lives matter" movement. the supervisors will announce a resolution during tomorrow's meeting. the resolution also calls for eliminating racial inequities throughout the south bay. a group of ablgti iactivist calling for not just defunding san francisco police, they want city leaders to disband the entire department. dozens marched at fort mason yesterday. one of the leaders say the group wants mayor breed to go beyond promising reform. >> our objective is to disband the police department and rebuild something that actually protects and serves the citizens, all the citizens, in the city and county of san francisco. we're going to make that happen by any means necessary. >> the president of the san francisco police officers association lashed out at the calls to disband the department saying, quote, eliminating the

shoreline. we have temperatures mainly in the mid to upper 50s until you get to the east bay inland neighbors. and let's take a look at san jose, where it is mostly cloudy and about 60 degrees right now. just caution your activity planner, we have a small craft advisory for the bay. it will be pretty hot inland when questiwe start to reach 90. and we have a low illness. in the south bay, 80 at noon. we'll hang out in the mid to upper 80s for the afternoon hours. down to a nice 75 at 8:00. for the north bay, get the sunglasses ready. 63 this morning. and you can see upper 80s for several hours this afternoon. wouldn't be surprised if a few neighborhoods do reach 90. and the east bay ralvalleys, we reach 90 for a couple hours. and then 75 at 8:00. we'll look at the 7 day forecast

welcome back. if you are just joining us, here are 7 things to know this morning. number one, apple is kicking off its developers conference and it is all virtual. the keynote address starts at 10:00. and governor newsom will hold a noon news conference to update the state on california's response to covid-19 and how we're doing in our reopening. we'll have live coverage of the remarks on abc7news.com and our abc 7 app. number three, nascar is investigating after a noose was found in bubba wallace's stall. he is the only black driver who races if you would time in the nascar> anllal fireworks have been going off for weeks now. the problem is so bad that some

east bay police departments are getting together to talk about better ways to i had indicate t educate the public about the dangers. and a summer pattern is locking in, look at these temperatures along the coast. 60s, 70s in oakland, but look at the 90s even some mid-90s in our inland neighborhoods. number six, we will check in on the richmond/san rafael bridge, it has been a pretty clear ride, just a couple high wind advisories. so take your time. and some walt disney world hotels will reopen today after shutting down due to covid-19, but guests will have to wait a little longernt the parks. disney world doesn't officially reopen until july 11. disney is the parent company of abc 7. only on abc 7, a troubling case in the south bay involving a woman who coughed on a baby. this happened at a yogurt land in south san jose.

the baby's mom believes that race played a role. here is jr stone. >> coughing on someone's face, she did it on purpose, it is not that she coughed, oh, cough cough on accident. no, she purposely coughed on my son's face. >> reporter: and she is describing what she calls an attack on her son at this yogurt land location in south san jose. last friday, the woman standing in front of her got mad saying that mora, who was pushing her stroller, was too close in line. >> it happened so quick and i was in shock that she got close, she took off her mask really fast and coughed in my son's face. >> reporter: she has shown us surveillance video that shows the entire incident. you can see a cough three times towards the 1-year-old boy. but the yogurt land is not publicly releasing the video, making it much harder to identify who the woman is. mora says she believes whativat

we're looking down the embarcadero and the flags have let up just a little bit, the sea breeze is out there though as you can see from the cloud cover and it will be sunny afternoon our bay and inland neighborhoods this afternoon, but the clouds will cling to the coast creating a large summer spread. this pattern will hold for six days, so this is our longest stretch of warm inland to hot weather we've had all year and clouds and cool though conditions at nighttime. and that is why most of us are not the under a heat advisory like solano, lake and mendocino counties are. so high pressure will make an extended stay steering the cooler weather to our north. mid to upper 80s most of the south bay, some 90s gilroy, 777 is the warm spot along the does. and we have 77 in san mateo, 834 in redwood city, 80 in menlo park. upper 60s for downtown and south san francisco.

palo alto and then we'll hit the upper 80s to low 90s in the south bay, north bay and low to mid-90s east bay, that is where the heat will be most consistent. today is the apple worldwide developers conference. because of the pandemic, this year it will look a little different. julian glover is live with what we can expect. >> reporter: good morning. no packed san jose convention center this year, it will all be streaming virtually from and the park as the event kicks off with the keynote speaker from ceo tim cook at 10:00 this morning. the event murdereded black two weeks from when it was originally scheduled. the key note usually runs a couple hours and that is when apple unveils many of its new products and features. this year we expect the new ios 14. biggest change here is that

the reopening. he is to hold a news conference at noon. the state has given some counties the go ahead to enter stage three, stage three allows higher risk workplaces to resume businesses again. we'll have live coverage of the remarks on abc7news.com and our abc 7 news app when they begin at noon. and covid-19 hospitalizations in california reached its highest point since the start of the pandemic. correspond to taccording to the drone, there were more than 3500 cases reported saturday. the state is seeing a spike in cases possibly due to an increase in testing. the public health department says california now has more than 173,000 confirmed cases and nearly 5500 coronavirus deaths. sonoma county is reporting another death related to the cronavirus. it was a person at a skilled nursing center. sonoma county's fifth death

but first, mike nicco has a look at our weather. >> that driver wasn't slowing down at all, were they. they were pulling over and passing somebody. can't wait to matter about that one. hopefully everybody is okay. hi, everybody. it is monday again. and we have will he to mid-50s through most of the north bay. we do have upper 50s around vallejo. and clear lake and yucaipa. so you can see why they will be under the heat advisory starting at noon through 8:00 saturday evening. they won't cool done as much as the rest of us at night. they don't have the marine influence that we have that is bringing us mid-50s to near 60 this morning. here is a look at that marine influence where it is a cool 56. it will become breezy on our bridges as we head into the afternoon, it will be choppy this afternoon and evening on the bay. here is a look at the peninsula, 62 with crowd cover this morning. 77 at noon and we'll be in the

low to mid-80s this afternoon. est bay, almost the same. partly cloudy, and 62 at 8:00. 79 at noon. and then mid-80s for several hours down to 72 at 8:00. in san francisco, 57 at 8:00 and upper 60s to near 70 as we head into the afternoon hours. can never quite shake all of the cloud cover along the coast. a cool 61 at 8:00. we'll see how long this is going to last coming up in the accuweather forecast. so far we just have two minor problems coming in from the chp right now. not even worth mentioning because in lanes are blocked and no injuries reported either. so we'll take a live look outside showing you our oakland camera , pick up. there are no major slowdowns though, which is good. but people are returning to work this cheeseburger is the best!

can you call 911? >> well, that is exactly what the chp is trying to figure out. you see the motorcycle is.o the speeding minivan on highway 91 in riverside county. witnesses found the motorcycle on the side of the road off the freeway along with that front bumper and moments later, the minivan was next to a tree and no sign of that driver. so we still don't know how it started. suggestions are coming in for replacement for the christopher columbus statue that was taken down last thursday. columbus has become a symbol of oppression in recent years. phil matier reports that the list of replacements includes nancy pelosi, st. francis of assisi and an italian general.

there is also a suggestion to relocate that is currently at washington square. you can read phil matier's columns every wednesday and sunday. we're waiting for new mask recommendations from the cdc. researchers have been conducting a scientific review on masks. scientists want too study if masks protect people from contracting covid-19, not just preventing them from spreading it. the cdc has already published guidance on its website, one recommendation says people should wear masks when they leave their home, another says wear a mask if they can't possibly sociathin prettnew that. the cdc new guidance expected, quote, soon. jar ary jerry nadler barr deserves to being impeached.
