day today as we're looking at the wind gust in excess of 40 to 45 miles an hour in some places but we are looking at this system to the north to provide that wind today. it's also disrupting the low cloud deck so not much of that which could be a good thing. brighter start to the day. 57 in concord. 52 in napa. cooler in santa rosa. you have quarter mile visibility. you can see two to five degrees cooler this morning and the surface winds now howling out towards concord and the delta over 30 miles an hour. 10:00, sunny. wind in the 60s to low 70s but through the afternoon, numbers will come down significantly from the upper 70s to low 80s for our warmest inland valleys and with that, we'll have winds 20 to 30 closer to the coast and 50 miles an hour. the first red flag warning in effect tonight for the north bay mountains. we'll detail that for you in a few minutes. >> businesses will have to wait a little longer to reopen.

they wereut the spike in coronavirus cases forced the mayor to put plans on hold so here what is not allowed to reopen yet now. salons, tattoos and piercing studios. massage parlors, outdoor bars and museums including the san francisco zoo. san francisco public health director explains why the city needs to put a pause on reopening. >> we had a near doubling in the last couple weeks of our rate of diagnosises of infections. that curve is very -- is quite steep. we need to be very cautious and thoughtful as we move forward. >> dr. colfax will be watching closely to see whether the percentage of positive cases corresponds to an increase hospitalizations two to three weeks now. in the north bay reopenings are on hold. gyms and personal services and more as well however indoor

dining and hotels and motels and camp grounds can reopen. we'll see if contra costa county will pause reopenings. they are closely monitoring data. santa clara county will also decide this week if it will move forward with reopening. contra costa and santa clara are on the watch list. for a full interactive map what is open and closed in the county you live, head to our website, it will show you the date each county panels to have every different sector reopen. it's super helpful. find it on abc7news.com. a mcdonald's in oakland will remain closed after workers and family members tested 1 e restat mn until workers and the public are no longer at risk. workers held a protest in april. a lawsuit against mcdonald's claims management and owners discouraged employees from

taking sick leave when they had symptoms. the restaurant has been closed since may 26th. mcdonald's has not responded to the claims. this morning we continue to track the covid-19 outbreak as san quintin. data shows more than 600 inmates and 100 staff tested positive and now leaders have halted their plans to transfer inmates tomorrow. abc 7 news reporter lauren martinez explains. >> reporter: covid-19 is rapidly spreading within san quintin prison walls. they reported over 600 inmates an to halt the transfer of poti some inmates after two inmates scheduled tocurrent outbreaks said it stems from transfers in the first place. >> as of march 30th, 122 people

martinez. self righ civil rights groups demanding a change. four officers were placed on administrative leave amid an invest gieigation on a facebook group where current and retired officers shared bigoted and racist comments. >> reporter: the san jose police officer's association will provide you no shelter.the san s association will provide you no shelter. . in protection. >> reporter: that's after learning about a private facebook group made of active and retired san jose police officers allegedly used to make racist and anti muslim comments. inne an email, eddie garcia wris any current employee with bigoted activity online will promptly be investigated and held accountable to the fullest extent in my power. we have no place for this. four police officers are on administrative leave after the blog post exposed the secret facebook group. the san jose

anniversary of pride and as part of the festivals a disband the police protest march and rally will be held in san francisco. groups are going to gather at clay and scott streets starting at 1:00 this afternoon. most events have been moved online this year because of the pandemic but if you would like to take part in person, there also will be a people's march and rally on market street where the annual pride parade is held. that starts at 11:00 this morning at the intersection of polk and washington. >> san francisco city hall as you can see lit up in pink overnight to celebrate pride but for some in oakland, this happy weekend is marched by a disturbing incident. the lgbtq center was vandalized leaving some stunned. >> i'm speechless. >> reporter: it's not what joe hawkins was expecting. >> they crashed that window. broke these completely out. >> reporter: most of the windows atlg center smashed.

new details about a shooting at a california walmart distribution center. one worker is dead and four in fair condition after a man drove into the center and opened fire. this happened in red bluff 30 miles south of redding. the shooter circled the parking lot four times yesterday afternoon before crashing his car into the building. then he got out and started shooting with an assault rifle. police then shot the suspected gunman. he also died. a witness describes the moment shots were fired. >> i went to help a lady that was kind of trapped at the beginning and at that point, i started hearing gunfire. >> officials say a motive for the attack is not yet determined according to the sacramento beat, the shooter is identified as a 31-year-old man with a history at the distribution center. the coronavirus hitting new daily case records in states across the country prompting many places like the bay area to rollback restrictions. this morning president trump's campaign is having to respond to

a new video from the tulsa rally a week ago. christine sloan as the details. >> reporter: the fight against te coronavirus across the nation continues with more than 45,000 confirmed cases reported saturday. the largest single day increase since the pandemic began. in hard-hit texas recording 5700 new daily cases, governor greg abbott admitting he reopened the state too quickly. one of its largest cities, houston, millions of residents are being asked to stay home. officials calling this recent outbreak of cases worse. >> let's be real. we will not get through this if we don't look at the reality of the situation. >> reporter: the sunshine state florida also in a state of crisis. thousands now rushing to get tested. miami-dade county beach is shutting for the upcoming fourth of july weekend to help prevent the spread. and florida bars banned from serving alcohol, however, the governor has stopped short of

assembly for the second time in three nights after paint balls were fired at officers and several hit with hard objects. protesters have been calling for the removal of the former confederate general statute. in florence, south carolina, darrius leonard said he was the victim of racial profiling while eating with black and biracial friends. the manager asked them to leave before they call police after a white customer felt threatened. >> once he said anything about the police, the first thing that came to my mind, my wife and my little girl. my first thought that came to my mind, i'm not making it back home to them. >> reporter: chipotle suspended the manager involved. we have a zero tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind. i've personally reached out to darrius and committed to ensuring the appropriate action is taken once the investigation concludes. >> he basically said all the

study finds that recent higher spending at restaurants could be linked to an increase incoronav. j. pflt morg j.p. morgan looked how they spent their money. the level from three weeks ago has power in predicting a rise in new cases. the study found increased spending meant a slower spread of the virus. analysts say that suggests there is more careful social distancing. and say so long to social distancing and the empty middle seat on three airlines. american airlines is starting this week booking flights at full capacity joining united. american says it will notify passengers when a flight is full and allow them to rebook at in cost. >> i think it's going to get worse again. it's dangerous andoncernme. >>'t have a problemthe middle st i feel like they're probably going to have to because, you know, the flights are picking up. >> united and spirit airlines are already booking flights to capacity. jetblue is blocking middle seats and aisle seats through the end

the red flag warning for some of us as we get into your monday as those winds shift. here is a look at the roof camera and the winds have been blowing anywhere from five to about 12, maybe 15 miles an hour at best and it's all due to a system up in the pacific northwest that is influencing not only the weather here with the rain but out through down through california. here is a look at san jose where we see a few high clouds. 55 in the city. 59 oakland. mountain view is 57. 58 here in san jose with 52 in pacificia and that marine layer is still there. we'll call it partly cloudy right here the golden gate bridgeti getting windy here. we also have a lot of fog up there, as well. the winds, they are blowing from the straight through concord throughout the evening hours but notice elsewhere, even around the east bay 17 miles an hour in oakland. upper 50s to low 60s in the sierra now.

it's a mild start afternoon highs in the low 70s but windy. winds gusting to 37 miles an hour. really it's for much of the state the wind and the red flag warning through the sacramento it's quickly swept away.lly ofg. you have it now but by 10:00 it should be out of here. the east bay valleys had been so hot, drying out the brush so even though the red flag warning isn't over your area in particular, the fuels are there. so it's just going to take a little wind and with numbers today in concord and livermore climbing through the 70s, it's not going to be too warm but you will also have the breeze. so we'll talk about the cooler weather throughout the day today across the entire bay area. low to mid 80s from napa to santa rosa and 81 concord and very windy san francisco and the seven-day forecast showing cool and blustery day today.
