what you need to know. >> reporter: good morning. starting about ten miles out from here, there are big street signs warning people that half moon bay beaches are closed. and once you get here, the roads are blocked. governor newsom is not mandating that beaches close for the holiday weekend, but the citissi half moon bay and pacifica decided that they would close. and they said that the difficult decision is effective sunrise daifd. and they are closing in annual evident to keep people safe from the spread of covid-19. it is the same situation in pacifica. >> we know that increase in coronavirus cases is directly linked to gathering of large groups and that is what happens. we see record number 6 of

as start tomorrow. people waiting for delayed u.p.s. deliveries have been complaining about their important packages that are missing. many are coming here. this is the u.p.s. distribution center in oakland and they want answers. one woman's missing delivery was crucial, it was a living baby bearded lizard. it was shipped by u.p.s. overnight but didn't show up. >> i was standing there with my eyes covered and just shaking and flying ntrying not to cry. >> wow. this is the lizard. it arrived a week later. thankfully it was alive. u.p.s. says that it is hiring more workers to make deliveries and in some cases drivers are even using their private cars to drop off packages.
