room for covid-19 patients in hospitals. so they have set up beds here in these warehouses, they have created a field hospital here. they have 20 beds so far, but the plan is to eventually have room to treat 93 people. this is for people who need hospital care who don't have covid. they want to free up some hospital beds for the covid patients. they say they are doing this because of the recent surge in virus cases. >> if things continue at current rates, we estimate that on average we will have more than 750 franciscsan franciscans in hospital by mid october and more than 600 deaths by covid in 2020. >> reporter: so far there have been 57 deaths could ydue to co. right now the hospitals have room for everyone and it kcould stay that way.

i'm tracking the hurricane isaias and it is headed toward the east coast. you are looking at powerful waves. and hurricane isaias has already dumped flooding and rains on puerto rico. it is expected to move near southern florida tomorrow. isaias could impact parts of the bahamas devastated already by hurricane dorian last year. they haven't been able to recover from that. neither did puerto rico for that matter. so no break coming in the tropics. the pressure is cropping a litt little -- the prepare is dropping a little bit and it will head up the east inches of

here in san francisco. they have created extra beds here to make room for covid patients in the hospitals. right now 107 covid patients are in the hospital in san francisco. and health officials say at the current rate they could have more than 750 in the hospital by mid october. this temporary medical facility a not for covid patients, they will treat other issues here to open up space in the hospitals. >> it is not a drop-in acute care site, testing location or shelter, so please do not visit this location if you are seeking any of those services. >> reporter: right now they can treat 20 people here, but the plan is to eventually have room for 93 patients. right now, the city's hospitals are not overrun. they do have room for everyone. and it could stay that way. officials say if everyone would just do their mart, wear a mask, don't gather where people
