for now. as the world waits for a coronavirus vaccine, scientists at ucsf say they have developed molecules which work as a nose spray and can kill the virus. this spray uses synthetic antibodies. scientists compare to a mouse trap. the antibodies go right to a specific protein of coronavirus and attach to to keep the virus from spreading. >> the ability to be delivered to the airways and to attack the virus directly, it gives us this incredible power of being a an agent that doesn't have to attack the human body but rather goes after the virus directly. >> so people could administer the nose spray themselves.ucsf team is looking to ramp up clinical testing and if succe successful, it could be available over the counter within months. and abc 7 news is digging into the race to find a vaccine and we will have a special
