evacuation orders have happened in san matteo county, take a look. we are live over the fire. look at all the smoke coming off of the mountains. man, that is certainly intense as sky 7 gets a closer look for you us. you can see a bit of that orange glow coming off the ridge of the mountain right there in the trees and that dark smoke. we are covering this closely right now. good evening, thank you for joining us tonight as we follow all of this. >> reporter: glad you are with us. immediate evacuations are ordered for the communities of lo mamar and deerborne park and the state park including the baronco community and there's an evacuation center at pescidaro high school, now, we are there live, bring us up to date, please. >> this fire continues to rage inching up to a community of 200 to 300 people i spoke to several

residents who gearing up and getting ready to evacuate the area. you can see behind us, the white smoke expanding and picking through the trees, you can see the flames rages as they approach a place with 60 homes. we are flying over as close as we can. you can see the flames are expanding throughout the area. cal fire confirmed this fire is impactly impacting two main communities in san mateo county, lomamar and deerborne park. it is prezsumed it started sundy morning. many residents have been documenting the sight of the blaze since sunday. here is one of them, thomas marks. >> we wanted to pack the stuffed animals and clothes. everyone is checking in and we have been checking in on each other and making sure that everyone is doing okay. and when someone is needing something we try to check in on

them. >> you can see the massive cloud of smoke covering the ridge as we speak. cal fire new evacuation orthopedics for the areas are -- let's talk about the community. they have been communicating through radio. they have no cell reception down there. i spoke to a few of them they were speaking about if they feel safe and should they evacuate now. now, cal fire did put the order in for everyone to evacuate. they are packing up and gearing up to leave the area and hoping for the best. in san mateo county, abc7 news. >> all right, thank you. now, we head to the fires in napa county, the gamble fire is -- the fire is 4500 acres both out of control. so is the hennessey fire. you can see the flames in the video. it burned more than 2700 acres

and causing more evacuations. we have been following the fire and he joins us live, wayne, what is the latest there had? >> well, it's quite a fire. we are some 15 miles away. look at the smoke over my shoulder. that is not what we wanted to see today, it is much worse than what we saw when we stood in the same spot yesterday. the hennessey is one of the three fires burning and we have gotten a close look at it today. this was highway 128 at noon. with cal fire diverting air support to regions facing larger threats. the hennessey fire was free to burn and roam and it does. this couple live on top of the mountain. and that devastating lightning landed practically on top of them. >> it was, thunder and lightning all evening. but, it really got loud.

big issue near this fire right now. gusts to 3 miles an hour. winds are going to be a problem near the north bay, near the fires the winds have increased, right now, 101 degrees. 24% relative humidity and north wind to 22 miles an hour. that's the gusts. that's near the hennessey fire, and near the gamble fire, so hot, and the winds have increased, gusting to 10 miles an hour. the firefighters will have to battle the wind in the surrounding area, you can see the breezes are going to pick up right now. anywhere from 15-30 miles an hour from our cam, you can see the smoke all the way across and here's a view from our sutro tower camera, seeing the north bay smoke. so, definitely be careful, close your windows and stay inside. >> thanks very much. evacuations and air quality alerts are in affect, due to the wild fire in sonoma county, people in rural areas of west sonoma county, are under a mandatory evacuation order.

earlier an evacuation warning was pushed on out to cell phones to all sonoma county residents, and there's an air pollution alert for those living in the hills between hieldsburg. lightning struck the fire. >> reporter: thefirefighters could be heard saying it's coming right at us. look at the video. that is just insane. that fire is just one of many cal fire has groupeding to to call the lightning complex fire. the national weather service tweeted out this this video where the fires can can be seen from the air. cal fire said this cluster of fires has burned 25,000 acres and zero percent contained. >> of course, we are staying on the fires toughly, let's turn our attention to the coronavirus pandemic. covid testing is expanding in the south bay. santa clara county is opening up a new testing site at the fairgrounds in san jose, as well

as a new partnership that could really be a game changer for testing. abc7 news reporter chris winn explains why. at the santa clara county fairgrounds a new covid-19 testing site has sparked new hope in battling the disease. >> we started here as ground zero for covid in the united states. and six months later, we are still fighting. >> they are making the availability at scale, to be able to test 1,000 people a day at this site alone. eventually they will be able to accommodate five times the amount. >> that is how we will get the businesses back to work. and that is how we are going to get our kids back in school and learning. it's testing. all right had. >> the santa clara county health system currently accounts for nearly 40% of daily testing. officials say thanks to a new partnership with the lab in southern california. those who get tested should be able to get their results within
