and julian glover is live with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. yeah, let's talk about the evacuations coming down in scotts valley, they got the alert last night saying leave now. and uc sants druze got t krchlc last night telling them that the students and faculty would have to leave the campus immediately. this is video of some of the destruction happening. again, boulder creek, you can see several homes still actively burning and charred there. and where e want to zoom back i scotts valley. people here had to leave v iscos valley like this before. of a k occasion in that the fires have come so close.

>> reporter: 48,000 people have been evacuated so far between santa cruz and san mateo counties. as you mentioned, this fire exploding to nearly 50,000 acres, 0% contained. coming up in a couple hour, we expect to get an up date from cal fire as to the status of the fire so far. they have been telling us about some of their challenges in fighting the fire, this low relative humidity, in-saysab ina terrain and of course the limited julian glover, abc 7 news. as he mentioned, not only there in santa cruz, but fires are burning across the entire bay area this morning. and this map kind of gives you a sense of how widespread the emergency is. many fires are burning in five counties, there are widespread

evacuations. the lnu lightning complex in the north bay has caused the stuildings have been destroyed, dozens damaged. these fires have burned 131,000 acres with 0% containment. cal fire says the winds are a huge threat as we head into the weekend. now let's go to the south bay, the scu fire, it is the biggest by size, over 1. 037,0037,0037 0 this has containment at 5%. evacuation orders and warnings are still in effect for both. there has been another death in the fire zone north of vacaville. the solano county sheriff's office says aanas found whileessing fire damage on pleasants valley road. abc 7 news was long that street and you can see hugh definik scd

investigati devastating this is. and also three killed in napa county. their bodies were found inside a burned home on highway 128, that is just south of lake berryessa. the victim's identities haven't been released yet. power has been cut in some areas just outde fire burns dangerously close to city limits. homes were engulfed in flames overnight. this video was taken around 2:00 in the morning in the area of wallace creek and mill creek roads west of healdsburg. cal fire says this 20,000 acre fire is the most c one in the region. a significant air attack went late into the evening yesterday and that included a 747 global super tanker that is the largest aerial firefighting air tanker in the world. and while the walbridge fire

early next week which could pose the risk of even more fires. the sonoma county sheriff is reminding everyone that evacuation zones are dangerous. wednesday night their deputies rescued a stranded motorist who was getting a closer look at the fire. the sheriff says this kind of behavior puts everybody at risk. so don't do that. restaurants struggling from the pandemic are now facing yet another challenge, the smoke from all these wildfires. in la fayette, this italian restaurant had roughly 80 cancellations from outdoor diners. have abolewner say tical nig th rotang on tnight, only one. >> it is just not enough that we can miss anything really. like this is just tremendous.t .

>> got to stay positive. restaurant owners say that they are grateful to both people who ordered to go and those who stay and dine with them despite these less than ideal conditions. the covid-19 testing site at alameda fair grounds is closed because of poor air quality from the fires. organizers will continue to monitor the air quality to determine when the site can be reopened. and the covid-19 testing site in hayward will stay closed until further notice because of poor air quality. the site ted sky west golf course has been testing anyone age 12 and older without a doctor's referral. you can follow the fires statewided with our exclusive wildfire tracker, it is updated with the very latest information from cal fire. you can cee where these fires are spreading, how many acres have burned and all of it is in real time.

it is 56 in santa rosa, 58 in half moon bay and 62 in livermore. current check of the relative humidity and we're at 80%, 90% in fremont, so looking at some better moisture in the atmosphere. that is the good news. but we are looking at north bay fires right here with the winds light, temperatures are in the 70s, so pretty mild, upper 70s to low 70s. you can see the relative humidity 40% to 50%. the winds will continue to be light the next few hour, but as we get into the evening hours, the breeze will kick up and that will make of course firefighting efforts a little challenging to say the least. the next several days up in st. helena, look at the temperatures, warm today, tomorrow and it looks like we'll hover in the lower 90s f nd halff toval temras as they h still looking pretty toasty and
