showing the homes damaged or destroyed in the czu lightning complex fire. the color coded map focuses on santa cruz county. so if you look here, what red means is that that home has been destroyed. orange, yellow and blue means damage. green shows undamaged homes. the black circle means the address is confirmed but if there is a white circle around the home, that means that that address has to be verified. you can find a link to this map on our website on abc7news.com. the largest fire in the region is the scu lightning complex fire and it spans seven counties including alameda, contra costa and santa clara counties. it is 20% contained. and firefighters are making good progress though against it with major help from aerial water drops. this was the scene we saw during our 4:00 newscast as helicopters loaded up on water before taking

off to do a drop near neighbors had to evacuate several times. >> that was all on fire, mission peak was all on fire. >> so you were basically surrounded by flames. >> yeah, we've had it on all sides. >> that is tough. and cal fire says that there are three to four spots that are still extremely active. and the lnu lightning complex fire in sonoma county, southwest winds are helping crews build on their fire line. and many evacuated residents are being allowed to return home. however, about 5,000 people are still under a mandatory evacuation order. the county has established three reentry stations for neighbors who are returning to their homes. in napa county, resident of a burned mobile home park have

not yet seen the damage that has left so many of them with next to nothing. the spanish flat villa as you can see, it is mostly destroyed. 47 of the 50 homes here are burned. when the fire went through last week, if came after two days of warnings. residents only had about 30 minutes to evacuate. and here is how it looked in those frantic few moments as the hennessey fire advanced tuesday night. >> never thought it would happen. thought we'd be able to go back home, know that they would safe it. but not this time. >> most residents don't have insurance, not even those who own their units. the red cross is saying though that they can stay at a napa hotel as long as they need to. and at the live desk, i'm tracking fire crews trying to make progress on a wildfire burning in the point reyes national seashore.

real time. the abc 7 fire tracker is now available at abc7news.com as well as on the abc 7 news app. the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, it is a major focus of abc 7's effort to build a better bay area. starting on friday, some businesses in alameda county will reopen for outdoor services. and just in time for the end of summer, water parks and outdoor swimming pools will open too. however, there will be some strict social distancing guidelin guidelines. barber shops, hair and nail salons, waxing and skin care services can open outdoor, nonmedical massages too. wineries can open for outdoor tastings and you no longer have to serve food to do that. governor newsom will provide an update on the state's response to wild fires and the covid-19 pandemic and we'll bring you that update "life" at noon right here on abc 7 as well as on our action 7 news app and you can watch it on abc7news.com. be cal.

71 in sausalito. and 79 the san rafael. everybody else in the 80s until you get to cloverdale and low i. 79 in fremont. some 90s around fairfield, pittsburg, antioch. otherwise we have mid to upper 70s in our inland east bay neighborhoods. tonight temperatures even a degree or two cooler than this morning with low 50s to low 60s. so here we're waking up and fairly clean air. and the seabreeze will be strongest today. you can see it trying to undercut the smoke and push it off to the east as we head throughout most of the day. so today will be one of the cleaner days according to this model. but you can see tonight the smoke starts to come in and thursday it starts to encroach once again. and we'll have the winds that are coming in and they will increase the threat of fire as they increase the smoke out there and our temperatures. we'll see what is going on with

check out the ideal conditions, hopefully containment glrew even more. look at this, look at the humidity, 92% on the west branch of the lnu lightning complex. 60% on the east branch. 100% relative humidity. a little drizzle is possible here too. notice how light the winds are there and also down in the santa cruz mountains. and temperature is 56 degrees. and as expected, hurricane laura exploded overnight, 150-mile-per-hour winds, it is a category 3 and it will come ashore just south of lake charles with 13-foot storm surge which could push all the way into lake charles and rainfall amounts over the next 48 hours possibly up to 10 inches, a lot of flooding in louisiana and east texas.
