can you read us a few lines from the letter? >> of course. my name is jason, i'm sophomore at st. john's high school. i consider myself and many who know me to be an awesome kid. >> i agree with that, by the way. >> but forget about me, let me introduce you to my most wonderful person in the world, my mother. my mom is an amazing nurse and a full-time caretaker for my father who continues to gallantly fight lou fwar disease or als. she has so many responsibilities, but she never does fail to smile. >> i love that. people with a lot of support, is caring for dad a full family effort? >> you know, with als, it's a disease that actually takes away the function of your muscles.
