. tributes are pouring in tonight for actor chadwick boseman who passed away after a private battle with colon cancer. he was best known for his starring role in "the black panther" tonight he is being remembered for kids and adults alike. >> reporter: the world is robbed of another hero. >> what happens now? >> what happens?

to the rest of the world? >> reporter: taking 43-year-old rising hollywood star, chadwick boseman, the man that gave human form to marvel's "black panther." he died around his family. the actor was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2016. the diagnosis eventually advancing to stage 4. colorectal cancer is the weekend deadliest cancer in the u.s., disproportionately affecting black and brown communities. een more remarkable, his family revealing the actor was making movies, staring in spike lee's "da 5 blood 80s and playing thur good marshall during and between countless chemo therapies. >> guns. books. >> reporter: boseman a south carolina native worked his way up in the film industry, playing an impressive icons like jackie robinson in "42."

air quality issues, spa irthe air day in effect today. another one in effect tomorrow so live doppler 7 along with satellite is showing you fog right along the immediate coastline with our marine layer pretty intact right now. so let's take a look at the current pm 2.5 particulate matter in the air that comes from the smoke. for much of the day, we have been moderating or averaging the yellow colors you see on the screen and unhealthy for sensitive groups for poor air quality. the orange colors you see on your screen, really the peninsula in the south bay has been the hardest impacted because of the way the wind is directed. we are still getting smoke from fires in northern camp. coming down our coastline and really pushing into the peninsula and the south bay right now so we take a look at the next 48 hours and we do expect a similar day tomorrow in terms of our air quality. on average, it will be around

that poor level again. while you may fluctuate hour by hour for much of the day, will you have smoke in your skies. the spare the air day is in effect. monday, though, we will see a bit of a shift. into the major shift. still a shift in our wind pattern, which will help to alleviate some of the smoke. we will likely see a gradual improvement to more moderate levels. that is encouraging news on the horizon. right now a live look from seheemoke in the atmosphere. numbers right now, it's not too bad in terms of any intense heat out there. our warmest spots are in the 80s it's 81 in concord. we're at 73 in san jose, 60 in the ski with fog. 73 tha rosa. so live doppler 7 along with satellite, there the an area of low pressure that will bring back the marine layer tonight. it will continue to bring that smoke in from the north and push it into the bay area so overnight tonight temperatures, mainly in the mid- to upper-50,

with that fog along the coast around the bay shore line so future weather as we watch that fog, first thing in the morning what the marine layer does, it actually acts like a lid on our atmosphere that can track smoke first thing in the morning so likely our worst air quality will be in the morning. however, in the afternoon as the fog erodes a little bit of the wind picks up, we should see a bit of improvement into our moderate category. tomorrow afternoon looks better in terms of air quality numbers. very similar tomorrow for afternoon highs. the accuweather 7-day forecast, another spare the air day in effect. then we find a warmer weather trend hitting us. by tuesday, we're in the 80s and 90s, guys. it looks like it's not too much hotter than that, temperatures fluctuating in the low- to mid-90s in the hottest spots, guys. >> all right, thank you for that. sports is back. chris alvarez has a look ahead. >> the nba playoffs resume.
