introduce you to my most wonderful person in the world, my mother. my mom is an amazing nurse and a full-time caretaker for my father who continues to gallantly fight lou gehrig's disease or als. she has so many responsibilities, but she never does fail to smile. >> i love that. people with a lot of support, is caring for dad a full family effort? >> you know, with als, it's a disease that actually takes away the function of your muscles. so, you know, walking and using your hands becomes very difficult. so i have to say that i have been very honored to take care of my husband, and with the help of my children i think that's what has kept us going. is we help him with this battle.
