apology. the owner of the salon erica kious said her independent stylist jonathan dinardo is releasing false statements. >> hairstyle rifts in san francisco and elsewhere are doing what they need to do to survive. the point of releasing this video was and is, if a woman in a high-risk age group who spends much of her time on tv warning about the dangers of covid-19 feels safe and comfortable in a san francisco salon and can be responsible for being cautious and mindful, why can't the rest of san francisco and the rest of america do that, too? >> so kious said the independent stylist jonathan dinardo made the appointment with pelosi and she didn't find out about the appointment until sunday night when jonathan called her. he was upset, and she said monday that after she saw the video and that pelosi was not wearing a mask inside the salon,

that's when she decided to release it. meanwhile, the attorney for the stylist who worked with pelosi confirms pelosi's claims that he was pressured to work at the salon during the city mandated closure. he said this office is in possession of photographs, videos and witness information that ms. kious contrary to prior statements to the press has been operating her business during the stay-at-home orders from a simple surface level review from her political leanings, it appears she's furthering a setup of speaker pelosi for her own vein aspirations. meanwhile in washington, this political battle went a step further today when white house press secretary kayleigh mcenany played video during her opening remarks to the white house press corps. mcenany says pelosi wants small businesses to stay shut down and

larsen, abc 7 news. >> wow, a lot to digest right there. thank you, kate. now to our other big story. >> this is the 17th day in a we've issued a spare the air alert. that's the new record for poor air quality. >> that spare-the-air alert will see an 18th day tomorrow. the smoky skies part of a dangerous threat. a heat wave is expected to see some temperatures ten to 20 degrees above normal. that is prompting a flex alert. this saturday, sunday and monday everybody is asked to cut back on their use of electricity from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., part of an effort to avoid rolling blackouts. abc 7 news reporter stephanie sierra begins our team coverage. >> excessive heat, a flex alert paired with a holiday weekend seems like a recipe for another round of rolling blackouts. but that's not in the forecast, at least not yet. for now pg&e spokesperson says

the focus is on conservation. >> every bit between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. will help reduce the chances of the rolling outages. >> reporter: the operator of sol food in san rafael -- >> we had no warning at all. it wasn't necessarily scary. it was a lot to deal with. >> reporter: the business lost power for four hours during the mid august outages. >> we shut down the kitchen, tried contacting customers from cell phones and any other possible way. we started ringing up customers by running to different computers and writing down their credit card numbers. >> now his team is preparing for a potential round two this weekend, just like pg&e. >> pg&e is also putting all hands on deck in these areas we're expecting the triple-digit or more temperatures. we're stocking up on equipment, transformers and other things we

a long time los gatos teacher was arrested after accusations of inappropriate behavior during zoom calls. a 13-year-old said joseph hogg asked him to lift his shirt, and boy said hogg asked to see his underwear. they found hard drives of images of children in underwear. deputies are asking who may have been a victim to contact them. he's worked at blossom hill elementary school for more than 20 years. new numbers show tough times for the airline industry. american air lives announced its cut 83,000 domestic flights for october. united airlines is planning to furlough more than 16,000 employees in october and an industry trade group is predicting it will be 2024 before demand actually returns to normal. united airlines is the largest carrier at sfo is changing its business plan by switching to cargo to keep employees working. the economy is a key pillar in

building a better bay area. abc 7 news reporter david louie has looked at how car how car o become critical. >> reporter: across the airlines, employees are nervously waiting the see if a second federal aid package will keep them working beyond the end of the work. ramp workers at united are busy on the tarmac loading and unloading cargo instead of the usual volume of passenger bags. this flight is heading to guam. >> we're averaging about four or five flights a day. out of san francisco, we did 580 so far and about 600 coming back in. >> reporter: with the reduction of passenger demand and flights, united quickly began ramping up cargo-only flights. the loads have changed. >> the other commodities would be things with military

along the coastline it will still be comfortable until we head into sunday. this is when it gets warm even along the coastline, excessive inland. talking 110 degrees-plus for some areas. for monday, labor day, it's still going to be pretty intense. as you will notice, numbers right along the coast will be in the 70s. something to definitely watch out for which is why the excessive heat warnings and heat advisories have been posted for this weekend. live doppler 7 showing still a marine influence with a shallow fog layer. that disappears sunday and monday which is why it will warm up. air quality all over the poor, from poor in ukiah, good around santa rosa, poor in concord. moderate air quality in san francisco, oakland, san jose. as we head towards the santa cruz area, moderate air quality. we're still dealing with the smoke impacts from the wildfires. here is a view from the east bay hills camera showing that
