only hot temperatures today, even warmer weather tomorrow and then to finish out the holiday weekend, we're going to find increasing fire dangers. let's talk about where we are right now. temperatures are well into the 90s, it's 104 in san ramone right now, 101 in santa rosa. 95 in san jose, 95 in oakland. 95 in red wood city. the city is warm with a temperature of 85 degrees. excessive heat warnings and advisers are officially in effect right now and this heat is with us for several days. these will last until mon wthe whole entire holiday weekend. so let's go hour by hour. later on this evening, t 70s an. so it is a warm night with little relief overnight. we will stay in the 60s and 70s to start the day tomorrow. that means tomorrow afternoon,

are investigating how a fire started inside a swimming facility while it was closed. it caught fire this morning. crews rescued one person from an attic store room. that victim was treated for smoke inhalation. they are closed the rest of the day while firefighters investigate. california is seeing a decrease in the test positivity at 4.8% over the last 14 days. our state reported nearly 5,000 new cases since yesterday, bringing the total to more than 733 statewide. here in the bay area, confirmed cases topped 92,000 with more than 1200 deaths. nationally, the u.s. is closing in on 3 million cases. the race for a vaccine is ramping up with astrazeneca joining moderna in crystal phase 3 trials. san francisco's biggest festto bes iv cancelled in the spring. but the spirit carnivale

in the east bay, a deadly hit and-and run crash is now being investigated as a hol side. contra county chp found the body at 1:00 a.m. the investigation is being turned over to the contra costa sheriff's office now. this death comes the day after contra costa chp cracked down on drivers aiming at pedestrians. enforcement resulted in nearly 70 citations and three impounded

vehicles. meanwhile, san jose police are investigating a deadly crash between an ambulance and a pedestrian. the victim was lying in the road when he was hit. the victim was not inside a crosswalk and the ambulance was driving without lights and a patient. the ambulance crew tried to save his life, but he died later in a hospital from his injuries. there are new developments with a restaurant that's asking customers not to wear masks in the sierra foothills. the video now shows the owners refusing to let state inspectors inside their business interest you guys will have to kim t.rsfi officers escorted cal osha inspectors. cal osha even had a court order to examine the restaurant. mappedy rodriguez shot the video you are seeing. she represents a group called reopen eldorado county. >> people aren our constitutional rights. that's what it comes down to.

the park alliance is calling it a hashtag park your hearts campaign. they will appear inial mo park and grand canyon. it's a part of a campaign to raise money for parks in the city. well, much of california is dealing with the sweltering heat. at the l.a. zoo they're taking steps to keep the zoo cool. it's home to 1,400 animals and temperatures could soar to 110 degrees. so the zoo is taking measures to keep those animals cool for the chimps, it's freezing treats. >> chimpanzees fruits and vegetables. so we'll freeze a different variety of apples and oranges and carrots. >> very tasty. vets also say, don't forget about the safety of your own pets. they say if you can't hold your hands-on the concrete for more than three or five second, then it's just too hot for your pet's paws. a of reference. all right, i hate to ask.
