an earlier kraesh thcrash that cleared. but metering lights came on at the bay bridge around 5:34 and we want to check this out now, we have a big backup here. and this is extending pretty far. back to you guys. happening today, we gekt as to hear from officials in the east bay about a growing concern about a fire danger at a popular is the spot. people have been trashing grizzly peak. there is an emergency measure to deal with the problem and julian glover is live with what police are doing about it. >> reporter: yes, if you head to grizzly peak today, you will likely notice stepped up patrols trying to crack down on the large crowds trashing the place, and also folks who might be setting off illegal fireworks and bonfires. in a statement berkeley police says there has been an increase in concern about groups setting

off fireworks and lighting bonfires along the grizzly peak boulevard, increasing the fire danger during this already destructive fire season and polluting the air. some who live nearby or visit regularly are torn over how bad the problem is right now. >> i've got two dogs and the dogs get really up set because the fireworks go off at strange hours. >> yeah, i don't hear it at all. i mean, fourth of july passed, it is coming to fall now and about to be cold soon. nobody doing no fireworks. it is a he said/she said thing. >> reporter: another big concern, the amount of trash that is being left behind by the large groups. grizzly peak is on the border of several law enforcement jurisdictions, so we're hearing that those law enforcement agencies will be coming together at 11:00 this morning and holding that news conference to

announce their stepped up patrol efforts. julian glover, abc 7 news. and we have new departments on the czu lightning complex, this is good news for the fires that were burning. cal fire says that it expects to have this fully contained by sunday night. the wildfire has now burned more than 86,000 acres and nearly 1500 structures have been destroyed. and your voice, your vote. democratic presidential nominee joe biden is on the campaign trail today in his hometown of wilmington, delaware. he is scheduled to meet with public health experts for a covid-19 briefing. this video is yesterday when he toured florida. vice president mike pence will be in the battleground state of ohio today hosting a workers for trump event. this is just one day after president trump addressed undecided voters in a town hall hosted by abc news.

but then it will clear out for several hours this afternoon. let's take a look at our temperatures with the sun coming out. we're hitting the upper 70s to the mid-80s through most of the south bay, even warmer around a morgan hill and gilroy. 80 in redwood city, most of us in the mid to upper 70s. along the coast, 66 to 67. pretty uniform temperatures there. 71 to 74 for downtown, south san francisco and salgs leto. so when you step out to breathe in that clean air, it will feel pretty comfortable. mid to upper 60s along your coast. and mid to upper 70s along the east bay shore. and check out the temperatures inland, 85 and even 90s around antioch and brentwood. tonight there will be cloud cover, some more drizzle and temperatures in the upper 50s to mid-60s. and the 7 day forecast, the low finally comes across our neighborhoods thursday and even friday bringing some cooler weather with it. and also the potential for more

jose, police are sainvestigatina shooting that left two dead and three ours hurt last night on south 8th near margaret shoot. it happened just a few block from the san jose state university campus. >> heard five shots go off. and then heard a bunch of screaming. a couple cars skirting and so i told my wife let's shuft the ligh shut the lights off and lock the doors. >> a memorial has been set up at the scene. police have not said what led up to the shooting and we're working to get more details. happening today, many businesses in contra costa county will be reopening as part of their updated health order and that will hopefully bring a much needed boost to the economy which is just one of the areas that abc 7 news ishoyf is li i t

four states along the gulf coast are waking up under states of emergency this morning after hurricane sally made landfall last night. this is a live look at lake pontchartrain just north of new orleans. louisiana, alabama, florida and mississippi all bracing for potentially life-threatening flooding. sally made a direct hit in gulf shore, alabama. and that is the first time a hurricane has made landfall in alabama in 16 years. last one to hit was hurricane ivan in 2004. so new orleans was spared the brunt of it, but you can see still lake pontchartrain was spilling out of its banks. so here is a look at live doppler 7. ang pull away from the gulf shores and the eyewall is
