after years of refusing to release his tax returns "the new york times" says it obtained more than two decades of tax data for trump and his business organization. the documents which have not been seen by abc news shows the president is hemorrhaging cash. "the new york times" reports trump's endorsement deals from "the apprentice" are drying up. "the times" writes into the next four years more than $300 million in loans for which he is personally responsible come due. president trump repeatedly refused to release his taxes saying he's under irs audit. >> the irs doesn't treat me well. they treat me like they treated the tea party. they don't treat me well. they treat me very badly. you have people in the irs that -- they treat me very badly. they're under audit. >> trump boasted about trying to avoid paying taxes. >> i fight like hell to pay as little as possible. can i say that? i have legally used the tax laws

to my benefit. i fight very hard because this country wastes our money. >> reporter: according to "the new york times" trump paid only $750 of income taxes in 2016. in between 2015 he paid taxes only five times because most years he reported losing millions more than he earned. >> you made about $250 million in the last year? >> $605 million. >> reporter: while "the new york times" said it won't reveal the actual records to avoid revealing its sources, they reveal that the write-offs are more than $70,000 paid for hair cuts. more than $95,000 for ivanka trump's hair and make-up artist. approximately $200 million for trump and donald trump jr.'s legal defense for the russian inquiry. trump reportedly racked up $26 million in unexplained consulting fees. the documents also unearth transactions that could be seen as conflicts of interest

including payments from foreign officials saying at mar-a-lago. trump slammed "the new york times" overnight. >> it's totally fake news. made up. fake. we went through the stories -- you could have asked me the same questions four years ago. totally fake news. actually i paid tax. >> reporter: in a statement to abc news the trump organization says the story is riddled with gross inaccuracies. over the past decade the president has paid tens of millions of dollars in personal taxes to the federal government. democrats are pouncing. house speaker nancy pelosi saying it's a sign of president trump's disdain for america's working families. until president trump, every president back to jimmy carter released their tax returns. back in 2012 trump criticized president obama for paying a 20% tax rate. president trump's former campaign manager has been admitted to a florida hospital

after police were called to his home. brad pass he had guns. brad parscale has kept a low profile since he was demoted in july. president trump and joe biden are poised to face off on stage tomorrow night for the first time. debate one is set to take place in cleveland. it will look different because of the pandemic. the candidates will not wear masks. there will be no hand shakes. the live audience will be small. the president is demanding that biden take a drug test suggesting he had used performance enhancing drugs during his pri mamary debates. the biden campaign said if the president thinks his best case is made in urine, he can have at it. republicans are racing to get judge amy coney barrett seated on the supreme court before election day. the first hearing is expected to be held in two weeks. barrett would cement a 6-3 conservative lean on the supreme court.

brett hankinson just hours away from his arraignment after being indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment. investigators say he endangered neighbors when he fired that night. his charges sparking outrage after a grand jury decided not to bring murder charges against any of the officers involved in taylor's death. >> it would not be the same for a white woman. >> reporter: a state ballistics report obtain by abc news is raising new questions. >> kenneth walker fired the shot that hit sergeant mattingly. it was fired from a 9 mm. handgun. the lmpd officers fired 40 caliber handguns. >> reporter: state attorney general daniel cameron claimed taylor's boyfriend kenneth walker shot a police officer in the botched drug raid. the report says a shot was neither identified or

eliminated from having been fired from kenneth walker's gun. the fbi conducted a separate ballistics test. those results are not public. >> the kentucky state police's report could not determine if kenny's shot officer mattingly. >> reporter: the grand jury said that the police identified themselves before entering the property. vice news obtained audio of the witness saying they could not hear the police identify themselves. abc news has not individually authenticated that tape. kenneth and mona? >> elizabeth, thank you. now to the coronavirus pandemic. 33 states are seeing cases on the rise in the coronavirus pandemic. four states are setting records for people being hospitalized. in wisconsin 27% of recent covid tests have come back positive. the state hit a record for cases reported in a single day. in new york more than 1,000 people have tested positive for the virus in a single day for

the first time since june. students head back to school tuesday with in-person classes resumes, but the principal's union says they've lost confidence in the mayor's plan. in florida bars and restaurants were packed this weekend after the governor released restrictions. the fire through the california wine country is being called the glass fire. it's destroyed a winery and the glass mountain inn. mandatory evacuations are being ordered in saint helena, including at a hospital. power has been shut off for 65,000 customers in hopes of preventing more fires from starting. further north the zogg fire exploded to more than 7,000 acres in a matter of hours. time for a look at your monday morning weather. much of the west faces an

tried to snatch their infant grand daughter. >> i can see how there's a lot of access and anybody is able to walk by the house. >> reporter: according to new information from the los angeles sheriff's department montana's 9 month old granddaughter was sleeping in the living room when an unknown woman picked up the baby and walked upstairs. that's when police say montana and his wife confronted the kidnapper. when she refused to give back the baby, a tussle ensued and montana's wife jennifer grabbed the baby away. police say the alleged kidnapper ran out without the baby and tried to hide inside another house in the neighborhood. that's where malibu deputies found her making the arrest. this video from tmz shows police at the scene. the suspect sodsai dalzell is charged with felony kidnapping and burglary. authorities are holding her on $150,000 bail. montana posted this tweet thanking everyone for their
