minority leader chuck schumer and several other democrats have decided not to meet with her. they're protesting the rush to confirm her before election day. experts say there is nothing democrats can do on their own to block her confirmation. more than 1 million people around the world have now died from the coronavirus. experts fear that number could double before a vaccine is available and breaking overnight "the new york times" reports top white house officials pressured the cdc to downplay the risk of sending kids back to school and tried to find alternate data. dr. anthony fauci is speaking candidly about news spreading disinformation and asked about the newest member of the task force dr. atlas. >> most are working together. pie differences with dr. atlas, i'm always willing to sit down and talk with him and see if we can resolve those differences. if you listen to fox news, you know, with all due respect to the fact this they do have some good reporters, some of the

things they report there are outlandish. >> reporter: atlas has do downplayed the use of face masks. the kentucky attorney general agreed to make the publ transcripts public in the breonna taylor case. here's abc's megan tevrizian. >> reporter: this morning, after nearly a week of outrage over the grand jury decision not to file murder charges in the breonna taylor case -- >> release the transcripts. >> reporter: a judge ruled the hearing transcripts will be entered into the court record and made available to the public. the decision coming after one grand juror filed a lawsuit to release the transcripts. claiming the closed door proceedings were of compelling public interest. overnight kentucky's attorney general daniel cameron condemning the move releasing a statement claiming our team has an ethical obligation not to

release the recording from the grand jury proceedings adding we stand by our belief that such a release could compromise the ongoing federal investigation and could have unintended consequences such as poisoning the jury pool. taylor's family accused cameron of slowing down the case since the beginning. >> i never had faith in daniel cameron to begin with. i knew he had already chosen to be on the wrong side of the law. the moment he wanted the grand jury jury to make the decision. >> reporter: the decision comes as new police body cam video obtained by vice news shows the scene after she was killed in her apartment. in one video you see a police dog barking. officers yelling commands as taylor's boyfriend kenneth walker is arrested. >> i'll send this dog. >> reporter: in another which abc news has not independently verified ex-officer brett hankison is seen returning to her apartment after the shooting rather than being escorted away from the scene which is department policy. he appears to ask about shell

back now with a tragic accident that left a woman dead on a southern california beach. police say she was sleeping on the sand and oceanside when a 50,000-pound tractor ran her over. it was part of a dredging project. a series of computer system outages affected millions. a major outage hit microsoft, 911 call centers were also disrupted. a major hospital chain suffered a cyberattack. here's abc's andrew dymburt. >> reporter: this morning, emergency calls are back on line after a surprise outage took down several 911 systems across the country. from california to pennsylvania, county emergency systems were disrupted. callers in need of help instead

got a busy signal. in redmond, washington, officials say the outage may have been linked to a microsoft systems outage that affected millions of americans working from home during the pandemic and found themselves off line when microsoft outlook and microsoft office 365 suddenly crashed. overnight hundreds yesterday. a ransomware attack giving hackers potential access to data. a major hospital chain also affected. >> they know that they're more vulnerable right now. more vulnerable than ever. the type of information you share with a hospital will be what we call pii or personal identifiable information, and that's your most personal information. >> reporter: hospitals impacted by the attack say the breach was so bad they had to shut down computers and many doctors and nurses had to

default back to pen and paper when tracking patient information but right now they say it appears as though no patient information was accessed. kenneth, mona. >> andrew, thank you. the woman accused of trying to kidnap joe montana's grandchild is due in court today. video from a neighbor shows the arrest of the woman accused of trying to snatch the 9-month-old from montana's home in malibu. police say the 39-year-old suspect snuck the house and grabbed the sleeping infant from a playpen. a struggle ensued but miss montana was able to pry the child away. the suspect later arrested nearby. a witness described that arrest. >> i guess the way i describe it is lethargic. weak and she was moving slowly. you don't have to be a superstar legendary football player to do that for your child but i think that it just shows -- maybe that shows common ground between us all. >> no word on whether the suspect targeted the house because montana lives there. coming up, the teacher who says his tattoos got him kicked out of the classroom. first, what we're learning

shows the number of children infected rose dramatically in the last few months. kids now make up 10% of all cases nationwide. it appears adolescents are a much bigger concern than younger kids. what do parents need to know? >> there are good things out of this, and there are some bad things. so i think on the encouraging side it showed us more evidence that children are less likely to get severe manifestations from covid. on the other side of things had there were discouraging things here too. 78% of the children who died did not have identifiable pre-existing conditions prior to this so they were healthy. >> the trump administration is rolling out 150 million rapid tests to help schools across this country re-open. what do we know about how these tests work, and what do you think their impact will be? >> this was really exciting to hear. 150 million tests is a huge number of tests, more than the number of tests that have been administered across the entire united states since covid started this. this could be huge and these are very rapid and they're very accurate tests so thermoelectric lahr tests and the results come back in
