in edgewise, or a word out and complete the answer. i'm not surer how many people could sit through the whole thing. it was that taxing. >> the fact checkers were again hard at work tonight to find out which of the claims mold up. go to our website. now to breaking news in the north bay, the explosive glass fire is growing, forcing new evacuations, 46,000 acres have burned in the fire, and it's 2% contained, flames are pushing northwest along highway 29. creating a danger to residents northwest of calastoga, cal fire has issued knew evacuation orders. areas in blue show mandatory evacuations, and yellow shows evacuation warnings. kate larson is live where the fires just continue to spread, kate, look at it behind you. >> yeah, we came to highway 29 around 9:00 p.m., it was in the past two hours we saw the flank

of the fire move 500, 600 yards across the hillside. and it's completely lit up. so, clearly still a lot of active fire. that being said, firefighters say there's good news to report. hillside by hillside, ridge over ridge, the glass fire continues to rage in napa county. >> the fire is active in the area. we are getting resources in which has been great. >> cal fire deployed a caravan of engines in to deer park and angwuin. >> we are plugging in the resources around the structure-s to ensure it's all protected. >> after seeing the photos, pho, are saying the firefighters saved the house. >> 500 gallons of water in here. they have a pump. >> some chose to ignore evacuation orders that went in to affect tuesday afternoon. >> until i see fire, i'm going stay. >> they say that the complex fire left people evacuated in his neighborhood for nine days.

and that was just six weeks ago. >> they had to wait a long time and a lot of times they could not get back in. and people don't want to leave their had homes if they cannot get back and see what's going on. >> it's mostly deserted, the most popular place in town is this area, they have one bar of cell phone service here. >> we ran out of service completely. >> on monday, a difficult day in napa county, cal firefighter said tuesday was different. >> we have had a lot more favorable conditions than we have had the first two days of the fire. our wind has dropped off considerably compared to what it was. that obviously makes it much easier for the firefighters to get there on the edge of the fire. >> another huge relief for firefighters that i spoke to today, they were much more effectively able to protect the

structure-s in the area. and a lingering problem is all the smoke. in some areas and at some points it's so heavy that fire air support is not able to fly. live, abc7 news. >> all right will, kate, thank you. in sonoma county, 14,000 people are under evacuation orders. most are in santa rosa and the surrounding area. you can see mandatory evacuation zones are indicated by orange and the yellow is the warning zone. we have a detailed list of evacuations on our website and the abc7 news app as well. firefighters are racing to gain as much ground as they can tonight with dangerous weather conditions, expected over the next couple of days. yes, let's check in with abc7 news for the latest. >> yeah, we have favorable conditions for the firefighters now, it will be potentially a problem as we go in to thursday and friday. take a look, there's a fire weather watch that was issued,

1:00 thursday afternoon. until 6:00 p.m. friday. the winds are changing out of direction. gusting up to 30 miles an hour, dry fuels and low humidity so that fire weather watch for the north bay hills including the glass fire and the dolan fire in the montrae county. you will notice the winds are light, it is cooling, 79 right now, 39% relative humidity. that is not going to last, temperatures will be coming up the next few days and as a result of the heat building, we will be seeing the winds kicking up. up to 30 there in calastoga. and tomorrow night, it's breezy and thursday night a concern. the humidity will be drop down to about 11% fairfield, 10% had in clear lake. i will be back with the forecas. >> thank you, many of those who had to evacuate in the last few days have ended up in hotels in marin county, north bay hoethss are now totally booked. one manager told us that they

>> absolutely. let's get to abc7 news for the latest tonight. i wish i could tell you that it's going to be fantastic, cool, high humidity for the firefighters, but i can't. for the time being, overnight, hopefully the containment numbers rise as we are looking at from our tower camera earlier tonight, the marine layer started to rush back over san francisco. and it resulted in a double digit drop in temperatures across the region. here in the bay area, and many places, and so, that is going to be helpful to the firefighters, along with the on shore winds. which are very light as you look at live doppler 7, we have the fog and things will change again, not for the better, obviously. smoke impacting visibility in ukia, and the visibility dropped down to three miles. temperatures in the 50s to 70s, air quality unhealthy around k

yukia and the glass fire. you will see in green, good air quality. livermore, concord, good air quality. santa cruise, good air quality. we are basically looking at the smoke forecast, the blue is the less smoke, pink is more smoke. most areas will see good to moderate air quality except santa rosa will see bad air quality, that will continue to expand in to thursday morning. why? because the wind direction will come out of the north, northwest and drag the smoke in to our area, spare the air through friday. we are looking at unhealthy to poor air quality tomorrow, thursday, and friday, poor, and then saturday, we see an improvement. the camera showing you a foggy view, warmer the next two days. records are likely, especially on thursday. possible tomorrow, but more so on thursday. breezy to gusty, and it's in to thursday morning and we are looking at increasing risk, heat
