and check in with mike to see what our day has in store. good morning, mike. >> i love when you say moving on up. it makes me think of the jefferson theme and then i get nice and happy and start dancing. let's talk about what is going on outside. little fog and not nearly as widespread as it was yesterday. along the peninsula coast and now starting to filter through more of the north bay from petaluma up to santa rosa and try to fill in along the east bay shoreline and visibility still good so far and with our surface winds relatively calm it will take the sunshine to get rid of it today and you know how long that took yesterday and it will be almost the same today. maybe a little bit quicker since the fog isn't as widespread. so, let's talk about temperatures. jackets needed this morning as we're in the 40s and 50s. and we'll stay in the 60s and we'll get to the 60s and stay there at the coast. look at that 70s and 80 at noon for bay and inland neighborhoods

abc7 news. this morning president trump is back at the white house. he is still contagious with covid-19. doctors officially discharged him last night and he plans on hitting the campaign trail asap. jobina fortson at the live desk. jobina. >> thank you, reggie. a white house spokesperson says that they are taking all the proper health protocols this morning limiting physical access to the president and wearing the appropriate ppe when around him. but you may have seen this video. lots of people did yesterday of the president arriving at the white house and removing his face mask. and, also, going right to twitter to downplay the pandemic. >> the nurses, the first responders and i learned so much about coronavirus and one thing that's for certain, don't let it dominate you. don't be afraid of it. >> the president is not yet fully recovered from covid-19. his doctors said monitoring him through the weekend will be

to see plateauing infection rates. it comes as santa clara county is moving into the orange tier. that means indoor dining and indoor and outdoor gatherings can resume as early as next tuesday. indoor activities will operate at 25% occupancy. >> if as we move slowly forward, we should slip back into a previous tier. that is going to be disruptive for everybody. so, as a community, we've got to work together. >> and the governor's news conference yesterday, he said icu admissions have been down 15% over the past two weeks. there's an effort under way this morning to raise money for a santa rosa firefighter who lost his home in the glass fire. santa rosa captain mike musgrove and other fall families pulled money to buy a home. >> right here would have been the front door. that is where we started this

welcome back. 6:10 on this tuesday. let's take a look at some neighborhood temperatures under mostly clear sky where we're about 54 in pleasant hill to pittsburg at 64. look at the 40s and the fog across the north bay. that's more like october, isn't it? even 49 with fog in pacifica while the rest of us are in the 50s. let's look at what is going on from sutro tower and the clouds trying to overtake san francisco right now. just a little caution whether you're looking from home remote learning or exercising any time you step outside to take a break, just monitor the air quality with our website or our app. here's a sneak peek at friday and saturday. this is the european model which is the more bullish on the wet weather. we'll stick with that one for now and take a look at the hour by hour chance of that wet weather coming up in the accuweather seven-day forecast.

we'll turn it over to jobina and find out about that commute. little bit of fog out there, jobina. >> chp advisory for the golden gate bridge. right now i'll bring you to the bay bridge because metering lights are on and came on at 5:50 this morning. you can definitely see a backup there. once you make it through the metering lights, really clear. moving just right once you get past those lights. bring in the san mateo bridge because we have a slow down on the mid span of the bridge due to a stalled big rig that is blocking one lane. that is for people who are traveling westbound. you can certainly see those brake lights there and also muni released an update to its performance during this pandemic. muni reports at least 72 assault or verbal arguments aboard its buss and rail line from april through august. muni says more than one in ten passengers or 14% are not compliant with its mask policy

price. the shooting happened on saturday in a convenience store parking lot. price was trying to defuse a heated argument between the couple at the store. texas rangers handling the investigation say when officer lucas arised he tazed price and then shot and killed him. the rangers say a, quote, preliminary investigation indicates the actions of officer lucas were not objectively reasonable. overnight more than 100 people showed up to the site where price was killed to honor him and former boston red sox player will middlebrooks was friends with price and right now holding a fund-raiser to cover the funeral costs and also make clear that price was not armed in this situation. reggie. >> jobina, thank you. the supreme court will not hear a case from a kentucky clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses for same-sex couples. kim davis spent five days in jail after same-sex marriage became legal in 2016. the marriage licenses would have

violated her religious beliefs. even though conservative justices clearance thomas and samuel alito agree with the court to reject davis' appeal, they say the 2015 decision on same-sex marriage threatens religious liberty. some liberal activists say this means the court may revisit the same-sex marriage decision especially if judge amy coney barrett's nomination is successful. well, early voting is under way in the bay area, but in at least one city it has hit a snag. in danville yesterday where people went to drop off their ballots but a slight issue. the boxes that were supposed to be open at 8:00 a.m. were still locked. well, we tracked down the county registrar to apologize but some people were still a bit frustrated. >> i was a little bit angry that with all of this hype about voting, our boxes aren't open when they say they're going to be open. >> well now these boxes will be open around the clock through

clouds being really stubborn along the peninsula and coast. low 70s for south san francisco and sausalito and right near 70 in san francisco. 84 to 89 through the north bay valleys. along the east bay shore 73 at richmond and 76 at oakland and 82 at fremont. as you head into the valleys. 88 to 93. i guarantee this will be the last day you use your air conditioner. tonight, look at the marine layer spreading and it's going to be a little juicier. expect a little more drizzle and a little more fog tomorrow. look at the valleys and the north bay. definitely a sign of our longer nights. 40s there while the rest of us wake up in the 50s. here we are at 7:00 thursday evening and increasing clouds and onshore breeze and highs only in the 60s and 70s thursday. rain is going to look a little more impressive because this is still our medium range model and has a larger grid when it shows you where it is going to rain. comes right over the bay area friday and then a little bit of a break friday and wake up to

>> yes, it is. we're going to start by looking at our weather. hi, mike. >> hi, reggie, kumasi, jobina. thanks for joining us, everybody. let's take a look at our air quality. it is unhealthy but way up around ukiah and the rest of us green good or yellow moderate and that means head outside. that means grab a jacket and cool out there with 40s and 50s. our lowest visibility along the peninsula coast and around petaluma. clouds are making a late arri l arrival. they are out there. they're just not reducing the visibility as much as they were yesterday. the marine layer is just a little bit taller. not squashed down close to the ground like it was yesterday. let's take a look at one of our last big summer spread days at least in this forecast with mid to upper 60s coast into san francisco and 70s and a few 80s around the bay. 80s to 90s in the south bay, north bay and inland east bay. wait until you see the changes in the forecast and the promise of rain coming up. here's reggie with more news. >> thanks, mike.

we are getting a closer look at devastation from the glass fire. and look at this. it's from sky 7 and it's flying over napa county. this was yesterday. several properties have burned to the ground and there is one area where it looks like an entire neighborhood is gone. our exclusive sky map, excuse me, sky map technology shows meadowwood lane in st. helena which was also hard hit. the glass fire destroyed more than 550 homes in napa and sonoma counties and at last check just over 40% contained. happening today, some firefighters who are working on our wildfires find themselves in a pretty tough spot as they're trying to save more homes, their own jobs may be in jeopardy. abc7 news julian glover is live with why santa clara county may be looking to make cal fire cuts. julian. >> hi, good morning, reggie. the short answer is all about mismanagement of funds. but one of the questions that the santa clara county board of

supervisors will be dealing with this morning is will the termination of the contracts and the dismissal of 32 firefighters and a number of staff hamper fire fighting efforts on the western part of santa clara county. that is one of the issues considered at a santa clara county board of supervisors meeting set for today. looking at whether the contracts with two south bay fire districts should be terminated. we're talking about the south santa clara county fire p protection district. they uncovered financial mismanagement with the biggest problems found within the lo altos hills fire district. the two fire districts would be consolidated under the county fire department and with it dozens of jobs would go. >> like a thank you at the time and not to talk about annexation of the fire district and the disillusidi board. >> this is just a big discussion

about who is in charge at the top. >> supervisor dave coretzy said it should be on the los altos hills and particularly a free tree removal and pruning service with low risk areas within the county. he is calling for the south county district to be removed from the agenda saying the focus should be placed on the los altos hills district. again, that meeting is set for this morning. it appears they'll be reaching that part of the agenda some time in the early afternoon hours. reporting live this morning, julian glover, abc7 news. >> thank you, julian. president trump is downplaying the risk of coronavirus after being discharged from the hospital. this morning, he's still being treated for covid-19 at the white house. the president left walter reed medical center last night and here you can see him getting back home to the white house. he went up a set of stairs to a first floor balcony, took off

his mask for a photo op even though he's still contagious. the president later released a video on twitter telling people not to be afraid of the virus. >> you're going to beat it. we have the best medical equipment. we have the best medicines. all developed recently. >> many critics have raised concerns aboutthe president's rhetoric considering more than 210,000 americans have died from covid-19 and cases are rising across the country. well, many people want to know what dr. anthony fauci thinks of the president's discharge from the hospital. jobina is live at the hospital with what the disease expert is saying. jobina. >> yes, kumasi. dr. anthony fauci is saying the president's doctors will need to keep a very close eye on his health. fauci echoing other health experts here saying things could take a turn for the worse about eight days in to battling covid-19. >> it's unlikely that it will happen. but they need to be heads up for

it. he knows it. the physicians know it. but he certainly does look very well. i mean, you don't need me to tell you that. you saw the way he came out of the helicopter in. it looked like he was in good shape. >> the president is one of nearly 7.5 million americans who tested positive for covid-19 since the start of the pandemic and the virus isn't going away any time soon. dr. fauci says thanksgiving celebrations will need to be a bit different in places with high infection rates. >> maybe just have immediate family. make sure you do it in a way that people wear masks and you don't have large crowds of people. >> dr. fauci says we'll know whether or not a covid-19 vaccine is safe and effective why the end of the year. he says he's optimistic about our chances of finding a safe vaccine. >> thank you, jobina. less than a month until the election, former first lady michelle obama is making closing arguments in support of democratic nominee joe biden. >> the election is right around the corner.

votes are already being cast. americans have stepped up to answer the call. it's not too much to ask to rise to the occasion, as well. >> the biden campaign released this video a teaser to a full 24-minute long video posted on the campaign's youtube page. in the video michelle obama talks about the joe biden she knows and outlines what's at stake in the election from the pandemic to issues of race. she also criticized president trump without ever mentioning him by name. at one point, she referred to the president's actions as, quote, patently wrong, morally wrong and racist. vice president mike pence and democratic vp candidate kamala harris come face to face tomorrow night and covid precautions. sources tell abc news pence and harris will be separated by 12 feet because the biden campaign requested more space. the commission on presidential debates has approved plans to use plexiglass to separate the

let me show you what is going on as far as the winds. look at that. less than 12 miles. erhour a per hour and eventually the temperature and low humidity as we head into thursday, friday and saturday. look at those 60s with humidity levels around 70 to 80%. as you can see it here in our relative humidity forecast. we're around 40% to 70% this morning, but wake up tomorrow morning and we're around 50 to 80. and then by thursday morning, we'ric looie ilooking at 80s and 90s by friday morning with the chance of rain coming into the forecast. all right, 48 in pacifica right now and 49 in redwood city and everybody else in the low to mid 50s on either side of the peninsula. fog across the north bay. look at that. 43 degrees in santa rosa while the rest of us are in the 50s. save that 48 in napa. we have thickest fog along the coast and up into the north bay
