an incident in a gated community in black hawk in contra costa county. it all ended with gun shots ringing out. investigators have been tight lipped and we are is it the piecing together what happened. j.r. stone joins us from the newsroom with what we do know. >> we have to piece this together. the sheriff's office has yet to say anything about this even though it happened more than eight hours ago. i walked the those living inside the country club at black hawk gated community in contra costa county who described seeing deputies race inside those gates. >> i was a coming back from running errands, i saw three cop cars coming pretty fast down black hawk road. and then they went through gate. there is been a lot of great care to make sure everybody stays safe. and the situation is not something you see every day. >> when we arrive to the unincorporated community of black hawk, which has its own share of substation, we saw law

enforcement leaving the area. you see that right there. employees at the walgreens confirmed fous there was a robbery inside around 2:00 in the afternoon. a short time after that, there were reports that someone tried to hit at leaf two officers with their car inside the black hawk gated community. also, reports of gun shots fired near blackhawks sheriff's office substation within that gated community. residents we talked with believe the case is connected to what happened inside the community. detectives have not yet confirmed connection between incidents. here's what it sounded like on the police dispatch scanner this afternoon. >> shots fired. shots fired. he tried run us over. >> company. >> so questions out there this evening. was anyone shot? was the suspect taken into

a group against proposition 15 protested today. the group east bay democratic socialists of america staged a protest pretending to be members of the ornlda country club. they accused it of donating to a political action committee against the measure. it would raise taxes and supporters say it would help fund schools and social services. opponents say it is the largest tax increase in state history. the orinda country club has yet to respond. walgreens at van ness and
