the excelsior, and at st. anthony's in the tenderloin. >> these neighborhoods were selected because number one, they have high rates of covid positivity since the beginning of the pandemic. and also, high numbers of latinos who we know are particularly impacted by covid-19. >> the organizers are targeting 6,000 tests to be performed. people will get a rapid test swab with results in about 15 minutes and they'll get a more accurate pcr swab with results back in a day or two. it was a busier day at san francisco international airport today. travellers are coming and going, headed back home or returning to the bay area after the thanksgiving holiday. this was the scene in terminal three this afternoon. sunday after thanksgiving is considered to be one of the busier travel days. but the number of people passing through sfo is dramatically down compared to last. down about 75%.

that's all because of the warning tonight travel during the holidays. the coronavirus is not taking a holiday in california. it is the second highest count ever. the seven day average is nearly 14,000 cases. the number of people hospitalized is more than 7,400. that's more than triple when compared to a month ago, october 29th. a 14-day positivity rate is at 6.1% which is double from a month ago. that's an indicator of transmission rates of the virus. to developing news, a north bay company is working a nasal spray to prevent covid-19. parnell pharmaceuticals wants to do clinical tries on the spray called nomovid. the company is asking for emergency authorization from the fda. they are currently doing small sample test. the main ingredient in that drug is pentetic acid used in more

an enormous construction project along one of san francisco's busiest streets will break ground tomorrow. drivers who use 19th avenue on the west side of the city are being warned to expect delays. the project calls for safety improvements. replacement of underground sewer and water mains and bus stop changes. the 27-month project will be broken into four phases. phase one involves the southbound lanes. some of santa's helpers were busy collecting toys for all

good boys and girls. california highway patrol officers held their annual toy drive in windsor. officers are also accepting toys and food donations at their office. a group of young adults hand ad gift of appreciation to their local police force today. ten volunteers from world mission society church of god dropped off 90 care packages for officers in union city. in them are hand written messages of inspirations and some good business will help officers while they're out on patrol. volunteers wanted to spread a message of kindness and empathy. >> even though there is kind of a strain between the community and the police right now at this time, we still want to show the police officers that they are appreciated. >> in this day and age of everything going on between covid and just everything in the world, we really appreciate the small things that people do for one another. >> the volunteers are part of the campaign the church has launched which is to

the next seven days. it will be breezy to gusty at times as we get an offshore flow that will warm and dry up the air. we have a rough surf. 10:00 a.m. tomorrow to 10:00 a.m. tuesday as wave heights continue to grow. there is the possibility of rip currents and waves. overnight, the forecast animation shows the passage of high clouds and then low clouds near the coastline. sort of just brushing up against the coastline. not really pushing across the bay into our inland areas. we'll call it mostly clear and mostly sunny tomorrow. low temperatures will will be mainly in the mid to upper 30s in the inland valleys. those will be our locations. upper 30s to low 40s. same range on the coast. tomorrow in the south bay. look for sunny skies with highs in the mid to upper 60s about, 65 in los gatos. 68, morgan hill.

on the peninsula, lower 60s. approaching mid 60s. redwood 60 will hit 63. most other locations, 61 to 62 degrees. on the coast, pretty cool. mid 50s. downtown san francisco, we'll have a max temperature of 61 degrees tomorrow. north bay, 61. san rafael, 68. 62 in napa. looking at the east bay shoreline, low 60s from berkly to oakland to hayward to newark. and continueland east bay, relatively mild with high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. lots of 66's tomorrow. 68 in fairfield. here's the accuweather seven-day forecast. as you can see, there won't be much change at all. mainly sunny all the way through. perhaps few more high clouds thursday and it will be mild. especially starting mid-week from wednesday all the way to the weekend. we'll be looking at high temperatures inland in the mid to upper 60s. mid 60s, maybe a couple of 60s along the bay shoreline and up to about 60 on the coastline. that's a look at our week ahead.
