trump's removal could lead to him being impeached a second time. nancy pelosi is giving vice president mike pence 24 hours to invoke the 25th amendment. and if he doesn't, she plans on moving forward with impeachment proceedings. abc news reporter tells us it all comes as another is calling for the president to resign. >> reporter: with just ten days left in office, president trump is facing a second impeachment. >> you'll never take back our country with weakness. you have to show strength, and you have to be strong. >> reporter: house democrats drawing up one article of impeachment, accusing the president of, quote, whifflefully inciting violence against the government, but they could delay sending to it the senate for trial. more than 200 democrats support impeachment, some saying one priority is to prevent donald trump from ever holding office again. >> so if we allow insurrection against the united states with impunity, with no accountability, we are inviting it to happen again.

today. another 468 people died from covid-19. that is a big drop from yesterday when the state set a single day record. and the bay area's icu availability is at 3%, which is why the stay-at-home order has been extended indefinitely for the region. the state's threshold is 15%. now to an update on a story we first told you about last night on abc7 news. as expected, zuckerberg san francisco general entered the red level because of its covid surge this morning. this means the hospital opened another ward dedicated to covid patients, and it also means more limitations on surgeries. to the south bay, where walmart has temporarily closed its san jose super center for deep cleaning. you're looking at the location on story road. this is video from earlier today. before the store shut down at 2:00 p.m. we are checking with the santa clara county health department to find out if this was in response to a covid outbreak. walmart wouldn't comment for privacy reasons, but would only

say this is part of a company initia allow cleaning crews to thoroughly sanitize the store. that store will reopen on tuesday at 7:00 a.m. . frontline workers lined up around the corner to receive free rapid testing for covid-19 this morning in san francisco's mission district. the tests are for people who work in grocery stores, construction, or restaurants who haven't been able to shelter in place. it's a welcome effort in the mission where the test positivity rate has been as high as 10%. results are usually available in about two hours. >> it is urgent to get testing to the hardest hit areas, not just because it's self-serving for our communities, but because it protects all of san francisco when we ensure people can be identified and help to be isolated. >> the testing is made possible through a partnership with ucsf and the latino task force. testing is available daily, except thursdays and saturdays. starting tomorrow, small businesses will once again be able to apply for loans to help

on the peninsula, a new tool is being implemented at one of palo alto's most popular parks to alleviate traffic and enhance public safety. the city has decided to close the entrance to the foothills park when it reaches capacity and stay closed until 3:00 p.m. the park had been reaching capacity at about 10:00 a.m. pedestrians and bicyclists may enter the park after closure, as long as they're not parked illegally. a warning to beachgoers today. a high surf warning is in effect until 9:00 p.m. take a look. this is the view from ocean beach in san francisco this afternoon. the weather service reported the potential for 30-foot waves in some areas. last sunday, a sonoma county man and his two children were killed after being swept into the ocean. and a large tree came crashing down in the dubose triangle area of san francisco this afternoon, taking down power lines with it. the 45-foot tree toppled over on to the sidewalk on henry street at sanchez at about 1:00 today,

blocking the entire street. pg&e got to work fixing those lines right away. all right. high winds and the high surf. also talking about those increasing temperatures, drew. >> yeah, dion. we're watching that surf very closely. and later on tonight, we will see some areas of dense fog developing first thing tomorrow morning. live doppler 7 earlier this morning. we had some pockets of mist and drizzle, mainly confined to the north bay and along the coast. the mist and drizzle is out of here. but the cloud cover is still with us tonight. look at that high surf warning. it's in effect until 9:00 p.m. this evening. and you can see right now wave heights anywhere from 13 to 19-feet high. we're still under the influence of that north-northwesterly swell. so breakers could go as high as 28 feet, even exceed 28 feet under this high surf warning. so it's a really good idea, even at night, not to go anywhere

near the ocean water. we're tracking the risk of sneaker waves and also some strong rip currents right now. temperatures, we're falling into the 40s and 50s. earlier today the warmest spots got into the low 60s. 55 in hayward. 49 in livermore. the same right now in santa rosa. we're already beginning to see our first glimpses of fog developing. you can see that along the coast right now. half moon bay, visibility is down to 5 miles. a little bit of fog developing there the inland east bay or livermore is down to 7 miles. but we anticipate that fog to just continue to thicken over the next several hours. so it's for that fact. a dense fog advisory goes into effect for solano county, starting at midnight. lasting through 11:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. where visibility could drop below a quarter of a mile at times. certainly if you're driving, use your low beams and also keep more distant between the cars around you. tomorrow it's a pretty gray start to the day. not only the fog we're tracking,

but mainly overcast skies first thing. as that fog begins to break down in the early afternoon, we may get some breaks in the cloud cover for a little bit of sunshine here and there. but the overall theme of our monday is it's a pretty gray day to start out the new week. we do have a coastal flood advisory as well going in the morning. this is because we're under the influence of our king tides over the next couple of days. of course, those are the highest high tides we see all year. minor coastal flooding is of concern, especially if you live very close to the coastal waters. so overnight tonight, we'll track those overcast skies, that dense fog. mid 30s to mid-40s for overnight lows. tomorrow, we'll call it mostly cloudy out there. some peeks of sunshine here and there. upper 50s to lower 60s for your afternoon highs. here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. that dense morning fog first thing. tuesday, there is another chance of a sprinkle, mainly in the north bay. but the theme is there is no beneficial rain over the next seven days. in fact, we'll track possible

finally now, one of california's most famous bird couples is at it again, and the entire world is watching. a bald eagle who guess by the name of jackie laid an egg yesterday and is fiercely protecting her nest near big bear. there is a live web cam that you see here that allows people to watch mom as she guards her turf and her eggs. the father, named shadow, has been periodically checking in. last week the pair lost an egg to some ravens. that's all we have for tonight at 6:00.
