the winds and abc7 reporter amy hollyfield live in lafayette this morning. how's it look there, amy. >> reporter: some of the power has been knocked out here in lafayette and i can show you exactly where it happened. here at happy valley road and mount diablo boulevard. traffic lights out at this intersection. some businesses past these lights though do is have power. and you will notice over here in the parking lot, the cvs does have lights but over there at johnny's doughnuts. no lights. they are selling doughnuts this morning with just one lantern they have brought in so they can see. so big power outage here in lafayette. pg&e maps show the happy vle orhood here has lost power.avfamagee crosm in san francisco, a tree came down around 1130 last night

as the winds continue blowing. 70, 73. nearly 90 miles per hour gusts across the north bay and 80 across the east bay throughout the night and they filter down to us. sfo. 45. hayward 25. 29 in san jose. gusts up to 54 miles per hour in san high-wind warning unfortunately extended an extra three hours through 10:00 this morning. and where most of us live, we've got that wind advisory until 6:00. gusts up to 50 miles per hour possible. reggie? >> mike thank you. new this morning, fire crews say wind helped fuel this fire that spread to two acres. people who live in two different streets were forced to evacuate. the residents were allowed to return home about an hour later. >> these strong wins are also bringing down power lines around the bay area. thousands are in the dark right now.

a look at the pg&e outage map. a new one in oakland near lake merr updates in. >> reporter: wie got spots in the dark here. right behind me, the cvs has power and then this strip of businesses does not. so johnny's doughnuts, and they are doing business with just a lat earn. this is mount diablo and happy and the happy valley neighborhood has lost power. this morning, there is debris all over the place. the videos from los gatos but it looks like this all over the bay area. and branches and debris right here is littering black road and some lanes are blocked there from trees that fell overnight. trees and limbs came down all over the behave area. so be on the lookout this morning, it was a windy night. and power is out in lot of areas.

and here in lafayette that means traffic lights are out. and so you need to be very careful remembering that this could happen to you and treat these as a fourway stop. we are hearing about power outages also in berkeley and oakland. pg&e very busy this morning. we can't even get through on the phone. we've been on hold about an hour an rehbouthen the lights could possibly be coming back on. everyone working from home, learning from home, it is going to be a rough morning for places with no power. amy, thank you. and a look at serious damage from power wind gusts in santa rosa. a joined redwood crushed a cottage near mont see doe drive. the woman there was able to escape with her two small dog. thank goodness she's already. and she actually had a bag packed of an earthquake last night.

leave for florida early in the morning. abc news will have live coverage of the inauguration beginning at 6:00 tomorrow morning here an abc7. let's go to mike for a lock at our very dramatic weather this morning. >> right, reggie and we have a dramatic video to take a look at. look at that from san francisco. you can see a crane spinning at a pretty high velocity in these high winds. the crane don't be worried, is build to move with the wind. it swings back and forth so it doesn't topple when the winds hit it perpendicular. this way it is going parallel with the winds and that keeps it from falling over. so that is a good thing. but still pretty scary to see i'm sure, especially with how noisy its been a all the othmag. 52 right now in castro valley in orinda. everybody else mid- to upper-50s. and low- to upper-50s.
