with a look at our forecast and the impending rain. drew. >> yeah. we'll see some showers return to the area, tomorrow, dion. but, really, all eyes are on wednesday of the upcoming week for an atmospheric river to move into california. and really, just soak the bay area. today, though, was a dry day to start ■out the weekand onthe cool side in the 50s. so this evening, we're slowly falling into the upper 40s and lower 50s. tonight, it will be a chilly night. under partly cloudy skies, you can see most cities will fall into the 30s, overnight, tonight. so, certainly, one of the cooler nights we have had, so far this month. tomorrow, storm-impact scale is a level-one light system with a cold front moving through so we will track some showers. some isolated, scattered downpours. tomorrow night, it does become windy, especially along the coastline, as the storm moves through. and even the chance, on our highest peaks, like mt. diablo or mt. hamilton, could see a dusting of snow.
6:19 pm
future weather tomorrow morning at 11:00 a.m., we first see those showers in the north bay. in the early afternoon, that front is moving south through the heart of the bay area. and then, into the evening, we will find those showers pretty much confined south of the golden gate. now, behind this front, it does turn cooler. and there is the chance, again, of a dusting of snow on our highest peaks. but the bigger story, the winds will begin to ramp up, especially along your coastline. so wind advisory will go into effect at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow along your coastline and this does include the city of san francisco where we could find gusts close to, if not over, 40 miles per hour. thankfully, this is nowhere nowe as widespread or as severe of a wind event like we experienced last week. but nonetheless, it does turn pretty windy on the coastline. rainfall, pretty light in nature. i do expect most cities to end up with a less than a quarter inch of rain as this front moves through. it's a wet end to the weekenders turns windy in the evening.
6:20 pm
it's also a cool day. we are only topping out in the low to mid-50s for afternoon highs. then, everything changes on wednesday. look at the storm that just moves into california. bringing rain and wind, here, locally. and we are talking about significant snow. in the sierra. so, here is the current thinking on the storm system here, tuesday night, lasting into thursday. i mean, we still have a few days left so we are going to finetune these details but it does look like a heavy-rain event for the bay area. 1 to 3 inches of rainfall very likely with higher totals in our hills and this is really the first storm we have seen this season that brings the threat of mud or rockslides that's something we are going to watch closely, especially long our burn scars. and gusty winds could lead to isolated power outages. and again, we are going to fine tune details as we get closer. here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. showers, windy tomorrow evening. brief break on monday. good idea, if you can, make sure your gutters are clean, free of leaves. then, wednesday, that
