everyone who wants a vaccine will be able to get one. >> reporter: fema now in talks to send as many as 10,000 troops across the country to help administer the shots the government does have. president biden's team insists they're not holding anything back. >> any stockpile that may have existed previously no longer exist. our practice is to maintain a rolling inventory of two to three days of supply that we can use to supplement any shortfalls in production and to ensure that we are making deliveries as committed. >> reporter: some states still scrambling to catch up with the first stages of the rollout. in texas, the process is being compared to "the hunger games." >> supply is our biggest issue right now. we had a local clinic that has like four centers and has like ey got 100. d seomet >> reporter: in georgia one health provider losing its

supply for the next six months after one medical center began vaccinating teachers even though the state right now is only authorizing shots for health care workers and people over 65. the scramble to find a shot prompted one man to drive 1,800 miles. meanwhile, the more contagious uk variant of the coronavirus has now spread to 28 states as far as alaska. the variant now prompting a stay-at-home recommendation at the university of michigan. also on the rise, cases of a dangerous syndrome in children. it's linked to the coronavirus and called mis-c. parents should be on the lookout for specific symptoms. >> so what parents should know off the bat is that it's still very rare, and what it looks like is a total body inflammation that can be life-threatening, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, swollen hands and

california mountains where more than eight feet of snow is expected in some areas. a separate weather system hit the southeast spawning a tornado that flipped over a plane in tallahassee. we'll take a closer look at the forecast in just a few moments. we turn now to washington and a new strategy for senators trying to hold former president trump accountable for the attack on the capitol. instead of impeachment they're considering a censure. they claim it could still punish trump by limiting his political future. abc's alex presha here with more details. good morning, alex. >> reporter: good morning, kyra. so democrats are now working on a potential plan b to keep former president trump out of office in the future. this morning, a bipartisan effort is under way to keep donald trump from ever holding office again. as a conviction in the former president's impeachment trial grows more unlikely. >> the behavior is impeachable and certainly warrants conviction, but i think the chances are virtually zero. >> reporter: senators timion th

would censure him and stop him from ever running for office again by using language from the 14th amendment in the resolution. >> under the wording of the 14th amendment of the constitution, section 3, anybody who participates in an insurrection against the constitution or gives aid and comfort to those who do is barred from ever serving in office again. >> reporter: legal experts call it a long shot, plus the censure vote would be in lieu of an impeachment trial and democratic leadership doesn't seem to be backing down on that. >> make no mistake, there will be a trial, and the evidence against the former president will be presented in living color for the nation and every one of us to see. >> reporter: now the republican leader in the house is imploring other members of his party to stop fighting each other. kevin mccarthy, who is expected to meet with former president trump in florida today, told colleagues on a conference call to focus on defeating the biden agenda and, quote, cut the crap

out. in the meantime, the homeland security department has issued a rare national terrorism advisory warning that violent extremists who support trump could feel emboldened after the capitol attack. >> they're out there, they're angry. they're disenfranchised. they're up set trump lost. >> reporter: this morning a california man is now charged after allegedly being found with 49 firearms and 5 pipe bombs. the fbi claims he was preparing for an attack and texted, i want to blow up a democrat building bad. i hope 45, president trump, goes to war. if he doesn't, i will. and now a california democrat is introducing a bill to expel georgia congresswoman marjorie taylor greene who is accused of endorsing political violence. in a 2019 facebook video greene appears to support executing speaker nancy pelosi. and this video now surfacing also from 2019 shows greene confronting david hogg, a survivor of the parkland school shooting. >> why are you supporting red flag gun laws that attack our second amendment rights? he's got nothing to say.

he has nothing to say because there really isn't anything to say, you guys. >> reporter: now in response to that video, greene said, quote, i will always work to protect our gun rights. now, some context here. in the history of the house only five members have been expelled. kyra. >> alex, thanks. new details about a hostage standoff in austin, texas. police say a pediatrician with terminal cancer killed another pediatrician, dr. katherine dodson, before turning the gun on himself. dodson was the mother of three children. police say the gunman had applied for a position in dodson's office but was rejected. nfl lineman chad wheeler is speaking out after his arrest on domestic violence charges accused of strangling his girlfriend until she lost consciousness. in a tweet he said, what happened was the result of a manic episode and he promised to get treatment. he's already been cut by the seattle seahawks and faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted. ti fk

amateur traders are going head-to-head with some of the world's biggest bank ofs goliat in recent days from their dorm rooms, basements and frat houses this next generation of investors has sent the financial world into a frenzy. >> well, we have the perfect storm of stimulus money, a cohort of younger investors. >> reporter: the group teaming up to send stocks in the struggling video game retailer gamestop skyrocketing. the company going from a losing bet to an epic payday ballooning to a value of more than $24 billion in just a matter of days. t e t are nt says he invested i, a process known as shorting the stock. >> you borrow shares of the stock, and you sell it. and if the price goes down, then

checking the top stories, as americans scramble for covid vaccine, health officials say it could be months before shots are available to military for up to 10,000 troops now to help with the vaccinations and this morning, the biden administration is considering with whether to require a negative covid test for all passengers on domestic flights. three teenagers are under arrest in denver charged with starting a fire last summer that killed five members of a family from senegal. two victims were young children. the suspect's ages, 15 and 16, face murder and arson charges. the police did not reveal a motive. apple now says its new optional ad tracking feature will be available to iphone and ipad users this spring. it will prevent apps from facebook and other companies from tracking our movements online without our permission. er a major
