winning pedigree and you understood why he won six championship rings now seven and i'm glad to be a teammate of his. and he just stepped in that locker room and did himself. he was coming into a great locker room already and he just came in, just did he what did and got us to a championship and couldn't ask for nothing more. >> team effort all the way, all the way around. we heard t.j. talking about it. what was it like in the stadium? i mean, it was limited capacity with the crowd. what was the feeling like? >> it felt like it was a full stadium. there were a lot of people loud, fans were into it throughout the whole time. the halftime show was amazing i heard. i wish i could have stepped out and watched it, but -- i'm a weeknd fan, so i wanted to watch it, but i couldn't. we was at halftime going through adjustments, but i did feel the energy in there. a lot of bucs fans in there, obviously, but the energy was amazing and everybody was out there supporting both teams. >> lavonte, you've been with the team for nine years.

six of these years, you all finished in last place in your division. you wake up this morning and now you're a super bowl champion. can you just talk about being persistent? >> super bowl champ. >> super bowl champ. just talk about the persistence to get there after all you've been through. >> yeah. when i first came to the bucs, obviously a guy who i talked to was derrick brooks. he always told me no matter what is going on, what's going on, just stay low to the ground. just you have that love for football and that the passion for it. it'll always be there throughout all the hard times. i had that love for the game and knew at some point everything would turn around. i hoped it would have happened sooner, but i wouldn't change this moment for the world. i'm happy. it took nine years and i'm thankful to be here and, you know, throughout the week i was reminiscing watching old film of the past years and just looking at all the guys who i played with and all the guys through

the organization and experienced those tough times with me and i say this all the time and in past interviews but this is for those guys who went through the hard grind with us but wasn't able to celebrate with us tonight but definitely -- i'm definitely doing it for them. >> so kind of you to say. you're a good man. one final question, did you really run out of gas on the way to the live shot and booker had to pick you up and bring you there? >> oh, yeah, i got to say i really did. i mean, i was out just celebrating with the team and i didn't pay attention to my gas tank and ended up running out of gas and had to come pick me up but i mean i'm still happy, though. i -- it was my first time ever doing that too. >> it's all right. hey, you know what, you didn't run out of gas last night and that's what's most important. on that field you didn't run out

bowl could be a superspreader. this as a new study reveals that the very contagious uk variant is rapidly spreading across the country. the cdc warning that variant could be the main strain here in the u.s. by march. >> if you look at the number of cases, number of infections that are occurring in the united states, the proportion of them coming from this variant is doubling about every ten days. >> reporter: the south african variant also cause for concern. south africa stopping the rollout of the oxford astrazeneca vaccine. new analysis finding it only offers limited protection against the highly contagious variant. here in the u.s. vaccine efforts ramping up. pfizer announcing they are now rolling out doses faster than originally planned, cutting production time in half. while the one dose johnson & johnson vaccine is waiting for emergency use authorization in baltimore workers are already c.

public believes the senate should convict trump and bar him from holding federal office again. 43% are against convicting him and rachel scott has the latest on how the house prosecutors will make their case. rachel, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we are learning those house impeachment managers plan to rely heavily on video to make their case. the goal here is to remind those senators, now jurors in this trial, of the chaos and violence they witnessed on january 6th as they placed the blame squarely on donald trump. with just over 24 hours to go, democrats are preparing to make their case against the former president. relying on a trove of videos to force senators to relive the insurrection arguing donald e willemove them from office one way or another. >> reporter: the man in the horns and face paint is jacob chansley in this newly released video seen here celebrating right after the siege. his attorney says he believes he broke into the capitol at the request of trump. an abc news investigation

identified more than a dozen others who say they thought they were following trump's lead. andecrats say that's the point. arguing the deadly rampage would not have happened without the former president. >> we fight like hell and if you don't fight like hell, you won't have a country anymore. >> the president was taking steps to make it worse, not better. >> reporter: trump's lawyers say he did not incite the riot, insisting he was exercising his first amendment right. now in the final hours before his second impeachment trial the vast majority of republicans holding the line of defense claiming the trial is unconstitutional. republican congresswoman liz cheney still standing by her vote to impeach calling on senators to listen to the evidence. >> this is not something that we can simply look past or pretend didn't happen or try to move on. we've got to make sure this never happens again. >> reporter: the timing and structure of the trial is still unclear this morning, but both sides signaling they want it to be over with quickly, george.

building a better bay area for a safe and secure future, this is abc7 news. >> good morning, alameda county is startsing its next phase to begin getting students back in school. it will begin vaccinating children and staff, about 325,000 people. you must first contact your health care provider. if you can't book an appointment they suggest looking for outreach from each employer or community groups. alameda school districts each have their own time to return to in-person learning. san francisco is a step closer to opening their campuses. the teachers union has reached a tentative agreement after suing the district saying they need a re-opening plan. teachers will go back to

cinematic experience. ♪ fireworks lit up the sky as a massive choreographed choir and orchestra surrounded the artist who performed without any surprise guests. ♪ always worth it ♪ >> reporter: the show moving from one seen to the next seamlessly as the weeknd ran through hit after hit, leading to some of the most tweeted about moments of the night like this frazzled walk through a golden hallway. one person tweeting, this is how dads take selfies. the grammy award singing getting people talking with his army of bandaged dancers, a nod to the character he's been playing in music videos and performances over the past year calling out how hollywood can be superficial. the weeknd wearing a couture jacket that took 250 hours to make. his crew of nearly 300 dancers closing out with "blinding lights," and the wild fireworks. ♪

the show getting fans like tom brady's wife gisele dancing, along with health care workers who filled the stands. the team behind the performance said it was the production unlike any other. >> the one thing we didn't want to do is have people look back at the show and say, well, they had to do that because of covid. we pulled out all the stops. as far as lighting, video, staging, you know, automation, pyrotechnics, you know, large field cast. you know, i think we provided a spectacular show. >> reporter: all right, robin, george, stra, you probably noticed in the show something missing, that is guest performers. he told us ahead of time he wasn't going to have any special guests come out because it didn't go with his story line. so that's something rare in recent years not to see a guest, but he did his thing. also it looked like the stands were full much of the game. we just said the weeknd used the stands to his advantage because they were fairly empty, 30,000

of these fans were in the stands last night. folks could actually buy themselves a ticket, if you will and have themselves put into a cardboard and put in the seats and i'm just stepping out of the way. if you look right through the middle there those two signs, the stands still look kind of full because those cardboard cutouts are still in there and we see people physically removing people from the stands now, but it was a cool thing. you do what you got to do in a pandemic. that's why they looked so full. >> it really did look that way. you forget how many hits the weeknd has. hit after hit after hit. what a show. >> reporter: it was a show. they keep coming but he did. he took advantage of not having people in the stands and made it work for him, but what a spectacle. always great to watch. always something. always get people talking, guys. >> thank you, t.j. we turn to that frightening massive avalanche that was caught on camera during what has been a very dangerous ski season out west. it's been the deadliest week for avalanches in over 100 years.

including four people killed in utah this weekend. will carr has the latest for us. >> reporter: you're watching a tidal wave of snow. an avalanche that's crashing downhill in realtime. nate carlin says he was snowboarding with friends on saturday in utah when he felt the mountain shake. the snow then came racing down, burying four of them. >> i'm out. >> i got you. >> reporter: carlin tells abc news his friend hunter was trapped under three feet of snow for three minutes before he was able to free his arm and create an air pocket. he says while they had safety equipment, it's a miracle that everyone made it out alive. hours earlier another avalanche 80 miles away claimed the lives of four people including 29-year-old sarah moughamian. >> a total of four individuals. two buried, possibly more. >> reporter: her family says she was an experienced skier who loved the outdoors.

katy, congratulations on becoming a mom with orlando bloom, your daughter daisy came into the world back in august. from experience i know that being a mom changes literally everything you do. i'm curious has it changed how you judge? >> well, i mean like this season is all about love and the fact that all you need is love and i think, you know, as a new experience, a little bit of a loss of loss not being able to be with the people we love and, you know, i experienced a huge influx of love when my daughter came into our lives and so i was definitely able to give more love this season. >> oh. feeling the love all the way around. lionel. lionel. >> hello, darling. how are you? >> my fellow tuskegee. we got that in common.

i was just overcome with emotions and even, you know, ng all over amic just going to not believe what they're witnessing and that's the way we as judges feel when we're in the chair. we can't believe what we're seeing in front of us. >> oh, that is just so magnificent right there. so great to have you guys back on set but i know you're taking covid seriously still. a lot of precautions still in place, lionel, we have pictures that give people a flavor of the social distancing. what is up with those arms? >> well, when we first -- opposite, they scared us to death doing the greatest job to keep us safe but i came extra prepared. so when i -- when i came in and they said, you can't get close, now, let me let you understand something. for me, if i can't hug you, then i'm not really doing my job
