. welcome back. it is 5:13 as you join us on this tuesday morning. part of our effort to build a better bay area includes tracking long-term impacts of covid. patients are reporting difficulty paying attention and problems remembering names in conversations. kate lars explores how common these symptoms can be. >> you know what, i would rather have the covid infection five times in a row than what i've dealt with afterwards. >> reporter: she was hospitalized with covid last spring. now 10 months later she's experiencing serious brain-related symptoms. >> tonight for instance, i went to go to the store and i started feeling dizzy and then i'm like where am i going? so i turned around and came home. i'm almost like an alzheimer's patience.

>> reporter: she's 58 and says her long hauler covid symptoms make her she was o he was one of the first 200 people to test positive. now a year later he's plagued with exhaustion and forgotfulness. >> i'm not able to do more than one thing at a time well. >> reporter: he's seen doctors, even been to the er but -- >> so far everybody is saying you are fine, frank. but i don't always feel 100% fine. >> people aren't being legitimized and very real experiences after covid. >> reporter: 20% of participants have persistent cognitive symptoms after covid infections. >> reporter: the problems seem to be quite common. surviving from covid is great. but we now need to be also thinking about the long-term impacts to society. if we have millions of people

that is because of supply. they have set up this huge space at levi's to be able to vaccinate up to 15,000 people a day. they will start with 5,000 a day. the site will accept santa clara county residents 65 and older and those eligible healthcare workers. this/will be the largest vaccine site in the state. the 49ers don't practice here in the off season so they don't need the space until august. they just need the supply to come in. governor gavin newsom will be there today for the first day of giving people shots. they do have a website where you can book appointments or look for them and keep refreshing, keeptrying. and we've linked the website on ours. go to abc7news.com to find everything you need.
