>> reporter: alameda and santa clara counties just learned about the new cases today. at this point it is a race between the emerging variants and our ability to stop the spread of the virus through vaccines and changes to our lives and behaviors. a lab at stanford turned up california's cases of the covid variant. one case in alameda county. in santa clara there is one case and another presumed case adult who had travelled internationally, returned in mid-january and quarantined several days after returning and then developed symptoms and got diagnosed. at no time during the infectious period were they in contact with anyone outside their household.

mask. j.r. spoke to the server. >> the girl in the fig restaurant in sonoma is currently closed with no information as to when they will be back over after a former serve every left when she was told she would not be allowed to wear a black lives matter mask at work. >> i would have abided by the mask rules if they had a sign up that said black lives matter. >> the restaurant owner on facebook referring to the incident and the restaurant saying we did not fire her or force her out. she made her decision to quit because she did not want to follow the rules. a b.l.m. rally is scheduled for valentines day outside the restaurant. yelp disabled reviews due to hateful comments. many neighbors were in full support of the restaurant. >> most places at a winery or restaurant or hotel. you have a uniform and certain things you have to wear to be

ama. let me show you live doppler 7 right now. you know, the joys of working from home, right. things happen. all right. i want to show you the two storms that are lined up, and then there is a third one behind it. tomorrow's system is off of the coast and a saturday system followed by a monday storm. none of these look terribly strong, but tomorrows will be the strongest in the series. clouds are gathering right now. those temperatures already have started to fall. it is a little bit cooler. 40s. 50s. the clouds continue to increase. we will eventually see the rain tomorrow and in the evening. just a beautiful view tonight. level 1 system on the storm impact scale coming in tomorrow. rain will briefly be heavy at time. brief downpours. gusty, southerly winds and expected slick roads for the evening commute. that is the one you will have to watch out for. 2:00 wet weather beginning to develop in the north bay.

oranges and yellows indicating moderate to heavy rain moving across the region. this is when the most widespread rain will be falling, 6:00 to 7:00. it is really going to be isolated. i didn't put a storm impact scale for friday. really a one-day deal that will be passing through the region. in terms of rainfall totals, most will fall between .2 to .6 of an inch. some of the north bay l could pick up an inch. above 6,000 feet, expecting 6-12 inches of snow for the peaks and up to 16 inches. visibility will be low. look at the snowfall totals right on through monday since we have multiple storms coming through. expecting up to two feet or more. temperatures, the first thing in the morning here in the bay
