includes 16 to 64-year-olds who are deemed to be at the very highest risk for mortality from covid-19. cancer, weakened immune system from an organ transplant or down syndrome among others. this doctor is glad the state is following the right data for this expansion. >> 80% or more, the hospitalizations and deaths in the country is in people over 65 and people with underlying health conditions. to vaccinate more people once the group expansion goes into effect on march 15th. >> so, we do think that by march there should be vaccine pretty quickly, but it won't be the full 100 million doses. the topic of the new vaccine

color coded system ranging from blue zones to red. in blue and yellow full in-person instruction is recommended. but in orange or red, hybrid or reduced attendance is encouraged and only with restricted enfo enforcement of distance. the cdc says teachers should be vaccinated as soon as possible but it is not a requirement to reopen cools. >> i want to acknowledge there is a lot of anxiety from parents and teachers. california has a new online tracking system. deep blue means in-person learning is taking place. light blue, a hybrid system. yellow, distance learning only. you can find the interactive map on the website.

>> breaking news, san francisco police are investigating a double shooting in san francisco that happened about 8:15 tonight. there was a heavy police present at the high at regency hotel. a male victim was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. in the east bay people in chinatown kicked off the year of the ox. businesses want to raise awareness but they don't want to scare their customers away either. >> reporter: the pandemic couldn't stop the dragon dances from being streamed online. as night fell from the heart flower shot in chinatown. he stayed open late as this is

cheese tends to have a saltiness. all wine has a fruit component, right? it's made from grapes, and so i think that it just becomes this balance. the goal is for it to be enjoyable, but the ones that are most memorable, and we've all had them, right, where you can remember where you were and you can remember the smell. you remember all these parts about it because you have this bite and you have this sip, and yeah, literally, it's like, "ahh," you know? the clouds part and it's something that stays with you for life. ♪ my job as a cheese expert or cheese specialist is i get to focus on wine and cheese pairings. my job is to find the perfect pairings, find that really -- the right cheese to go with the right wine so you have the best experience and you're gonna remember that cheese and wine. there are so many amazing cheese makers around the world, but i tend to focus mostly on sonoma county or east california cheeses. ♪ ♪

one of the few things i knew as a kid was that i wanted to cook, until i actually started as a dishwasher when i was 14. very rare, very, very lucky, and i just stuck with it. it was something -- i grew up in an italian household. you can tell by this. so my grandmother or my nana always cooking, my mom always cooking. even my dad, who's not italian, great cook, and so i just grew up around really wonderful food. ♪ don't be intimidated by making a cheese board. it's really important to pick cheeses that you know that you like. if you have multiple cheeses like i have here, you can try something new. you know, be adventurous, but there's a few components that i think are really important. one of them is changing it up a little bit. so, making sure you have not just one animal milk represented and not just one texture represented. i've got sheep's milk, cow's milk, goat's milk represented. i've got different textures of cheeses ranging from, you know, a fresh chèvre to a triple cream to something firmer here, and i

think that really gives some diversity. right here i've got chevoo -- that fun name chevoo. this is a young chèvre goat cheese made in healdsburg. this right here is from cowgirl creamery. this is their mt. tam that they make in the shape of a heart, right, so this time of year for valentine's day. this is a triple cream. then we go to bohemian creamery boho belle. this is a great creamery out of sebastopol. and then we get into some firmer-textured cheese. cypress grove midnight moon, an aged gouda-style goat cheese. we've got nicasio reserve, this really nice cow's milk cheese. it's got some great crumbly texture. san andreas from bellwether farms, a really lovely sheep's milk cheese. and then, of course, point reyes blue cheese, which is, like, an institution for where we live. i mean, that's what they're known for. adding other things to the board not only makes it delicious, but it also adds some color and texture, and so for example, here i've got -- this is called hoshigaki, and this is a really traditional japanese method where you peel the outside of the persimmon and then you let it hang and air dry, and it
