jobina, kumasi. hello to you. we're all laughing at what they are dealing with and now it is going hit our wallets possibly. once in a lifetime winter outbreak there. live doppler 7. party cloudy to mostly clear. no rain in the forecast. and the winds are keeping much of the fog from forming now. the usual spots could have a little by the end of the commute. a look from the roof camera, you can see it is dry out there and definitely cooler. temperatures in the upper 30s to upper-40s by 7:00. mid- to upper-50s at noon. warm apparent 4:00 with high clouds and sunshine. close to average and back down into the low-50s and you are heading out at 7:00. one more dry day before another chance of rain and we'll talk about that coming up in the accuweather 7-day forecast. two federal mass vaccination sites opening in california today. one is here in the bay area.

the other in southern california. governor newsom will be joining leaders at the opening of the sites at cal state l.a. state and federal agencies are partnering on the effort. health officials hope to admin up to 6,000 vaccines every day. it will be open for both drive-thru and walk-up point appointments it. will also deploy a mobile clinic. the second federal vaccination site is opening at the oakland coliseumment today. amy hollyfield in the newsroom with why this site might not have the same issues with supply? >> tale of two cities. san francisco has closed its mass vaccination sites because of lack of supply. while oakland is opening a huge one. the difference? the federal government. the oakland coliseum site is one of the centers directed to open by the president of the united states. president joe biden ordered 100 of these to open in 30 days and

federal officials say no pauses in operations or closures are expected. this site has already received 42,000 doses for this week. >> this is the largest deployment of military personnel for a domestic operation, ever. in history. including hurricane katrina, which was huge by all means. so this is a big undertaking. requires a lot of coordination. >> they expect to admin 6,000 doses a day at the coliseum site. they are also opening a federal-run site like this at cal state in l.a. the my turn website is handling appointments and you can go to our website abc7 news comnews.c link to those appointments. the vaccination site is allowing people 65 or older or healthcare workers, residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities, food and agriculture workers, teachers and other child care staff and emergency

services workers. this will be opening today here in oakland. from the newsroom, amy hollyfield abc7 news. the city of berkly is expanding vaccine eligibility. anyone who works as the berkeley grocery store or child care setting qualifies to get a shot. bring an id badge or letter from your employer to confirm eligibility. the appointments tomorrow through saturday online and at the vaccination site on buchanan street in albany. the vaccines are free. new details on california's contract with blue shield to run the state's vaccination program. it calls for 4 million doses to be administered every week by april 30th. blue shield has to provide equity reports that will be used to prioritize distribution of the vaccine. providers must administer 95% of their vaccines within a week of receiving them. blue shield will work with the state to deliver vaccines to

people who are unable to leave their home. the state's largest single healthcare provider, kaiser permanente is lagging well behind other systems when it comes to vaccinating, even their oldest patients. abc7 news is heard from people in their 80s who have yet to get an invitation to make an appointment. those who do get one are finding long lines and waits. >> they stood outside with no cover, nowhere to sit for two and a half hours after their appointment before they could even go in for their vaccine. >> kaiser says the system simply does not have enough vaccine yet. with increased state allocations kaiser expects to make vaccines available to all 270 of its members over 75 by the end of the month. in the south bay santa clara county is worried about a drop in covid testing so it is rolling out new type of test this week. people will be able to do a saliva-based test. at two locations. as the self administered test.

it is really dire for those folks. some of those folks who don't have power also don't have water was a their water pipes have frozen. houses, the infrastructure that far south is just not built to handle this cold. place like slooesmt which i've talked about yesterday. talked about yesterday. it is unusual for them to get below freezing for a couple of hours let aileen five straight days. i know a few people dwhoent have power and don't have water right now and they didn't have electric or power so to speak, so they are just hunkered down. blankets and blankets and blankets and firewood if they can found it. and inch of snow in shreveport. they have the highest changes of up to a half of inch of of ice. if rolling power o outages were an issue noup the lack of power lines standing up to that ice is going to be an issue. when you lose power because of

skaich. welcome back. officials in florida are investigating after former nfl wide receiver vince jackson was found dead in a tampa hotel room. he was 38 years old and a three-time pro bowler. but the then san diego chargers and tampa bay rays. his body was discovered by a housekeeper around 1130 a.m. yesterday. the sheriffs office is investigating but that jackson's body showed no apparent signs of trauma. officials do not suspect foul play. after weeks of being offline, parler says it is back. the right wing friendly social network is relaunching after it was forced offline last month.
