fly. 8.7 million doses have been delivered across the state. nearly 77% have been used. that means 2 million doses waiting in freezers reserved for second shots. how can be sure the doses are not wasted. the state is not tracking that information on the website. we are pushing the california department of public health to change that. after multiple calls and remails, we received a response saying we are looking into it. >> it's really easy to plan this stuff when you have it controlled in a handful of large centers. it's when you start going down deep in the communities and door to door campaigns, there is bound to be some wastage. >> reporter: the nbc eye team found that friday, 631 doses have been wasted across four bay area counties since distribution started in december. 292 dosed wasted in santa clara
