liz penna, tells students and teach wares it will take to reopen for in-person classes. >> reporter: f or unity, the san francisco unit says they're hoping to reach an agreement. it's been a year of virtual classes and this 6-year-old has had enough. >> staying inside all the time. >> reporter: his parents by his side, he says he's ready to go back to in-person class, but he is still worth it. >> it's a virus and so they're not safe yet. >> after five consecutive days of negotiation, united educators of san francisco says, they're still not on the same page with the school district.

>> they have >> san francisco unified says they want to reopen for in-person classes five days a week with two days at the minimum. today the deputy of instruction explained. >> some schools will be able offer in-person learning for students who choose to return for five full days of instruction a weak. most classes accommodate 14 students with physical distance guidelines. for these schools, we'll offer hybrid schedules. >> reporter: both sides agree to go back once they enter the red tier. what is it about this safety aspect concerning you personally the most? >> there is a set of conditions we need to be met to make sure our billings are safe, our staff is safe and students are safe. >> reporter: the deal requires for teachers and staff to get vaccinated and having a says to

testing every two weeks. for now, a date for schools to reopen for in-person classes is still up in the air. in san francisco, lois penna, nbc 7 news. >> reporter: mile, in berkeley, schools will begin reopening for in-person learning next month. the city of berkeley has its own health department to require vaccines. a site opens tomorrow in berkeley and will continue through march. the reaction from students is next. >> i didn't think it was real. are we really going back with a few e-mails? i was happy, it's better on zoom. >> we have so many kids at the schools. we're rubbing el elbows in the hallways. i don't know how it will work. >> they are scheduled back on march 29th. older students by mid-april.

falling to the ground. the flight with 321d ten cw aboa toonulpa cruising altitude and the captain was making an announcement when a large explosion chipped the cabin. experts say it was a dangerous situation. >> an engine failure like this at takeoff is very dangerous. the crew is fighting on one engine to get up and away, they're working on flying on one engine, making sure the fire gets out. >> reporter: people on the ground reported seeing smoke and piecings of metal come from the skies. a large circular piece of metal that appears to be a part of the engine casing can be seen in the front yard of this home. debris landed in the kitchen. the faa says the plane returned to denver international airport
