francis, jobina. here's a look at live doppler 7. dry. so let's look at the winds. they're coming out of the south. they're a little bit different than yesterday. the only thing you'll notice is it's not quite as breezy today and not quite as warm as yesterday. with the breezes, it felt cooler than it was. kind of a tradeoff there. we'll have a few clouds along the coast. for the rest of us, total sunshine. 57 to 62 along the coast. 64 to 68 around the bay and 64 to 69 inland. jobina mentioned rain in the back half of the forecast. >> let's talk now about the third vaccine. now about to be distributed in the u.s. johnson & johnson begins delivery of the single shot vaccine. here's a live look in kentucky. not exciting right now. but i can tell you this is their

central distribution site and crews have been boxing up vaccines throughout the morning. it could be kept at standard refrigeration temperatures for up to three months. it's shown to be effective against the south african and brazilian variants. this morning johnson & johnson's ceo is on gma laying out how fast they plan to get shots out to americans. >> anticipate march or shipping 4 million over the next several days. we expect to have about 20 million having been delivered by march and then we'll be on this path to do 100 million by june of this year. >> first doses could be in people's arms as soon as tomorrow. now, of these first 4 million doses being sent out today, 2.8 million go to states and counties. the rest of pharmacies, and qualified health care centers. johnson & johnson doses to expected to arrive in california

this week. we are live at alameda county fairgrounds with the details from the governor. >> reporter: good morning. we keep hearing about supply shortages at mass vaccination sites like this one. this should help that situation out significantly. so we are expecting to see 380,000 doses of the johnson & johnson vaccine. here in california, this week, this is the third vaccine to hit the market. this joins pfizer and moderna's vaccine, and those who have struggled to one of the doses hope this will make their efforts easier. >> you call the phone number. you stay on hold forever. someone finally picks up and says sorry, there's no appointments available. >> my mom is 81, and i still can't get her in to get a vaccine. >> the number of doses arriving in california for moderna and pfizer are also expected to go up. the governor has not announced

yet which counties will be getting the first batch of johnson & johnson but he says 380,000 doses are coming. he said the more vaccine we administer, the more we see the number of covid cases continuing to decline. he calls the drop in cases remarkable. live in pleasanton. new numbers show a daily decrease in the number of cases statewide. 5100 people are currently in the hospital with coronavirus. that number is down by 2000 since last week. the positivity rate, also continues to decline. it's now 2.4 % over the last seven days. the cdc says just under 15% of all californians have received at least one shot. you can follow along with your county's vaccine rollout with our interactive vaccine tracker. you can easily compare california's progress and find your place in line. that's on our website, abc 7

news. bart could be getting money for two major projects. there is a major hurdle. as matt boone explains republican lawmakers have been chris sizing the proposed funds. >> the covid relief bill includes $140 million specifically for the extension of bart into downtown san jose. >> this regional extension of the system will really link the three largest cities in the bay area with the one seat ride. >> ber niece is a spokesperson for barth. -- bart. she argues the funlds are necessary because local revenue has dried up during the pandemic. >> this alleviates some of the strain on some of the local sales taxes impacted by covid-19. >> for bart passenger mike elder, he thinks the money could be better spent. >> seats are horrible.

going. oh, my. first, we get a check on the weather with mike nicco. >> how adventurous. all right. let's talk about what's going on outside. you venture outside. it's significantly cooler, especially in the north bay and also in san francisco. and along the coasts. let's start in san francisco. temperatures are running mainly in the mid to upper 40s. 46 to 49 degrees. elsewhere, we've got mid 30s on the 101 corridor in the north bay. even 36 in palo alto. pleasant turned to 36. 39 in walnut creek and everybody else in the low 40s until you get to places like san leandro and richmond toward pacifica. you can see the winds are considerably slower than yesterday. that will be the difference today. slower winds and slightly milder temperatures except for near the coast where that southerly wind will keep you cooler. sierra in the 50s. westminster in the 60s after

in the south bay, a crackdown on side shows over the weekend. 40 people cited for watching. four others arrested for illegally carrying firearms and reckless driving. five vehicles were impounded. the marin county department is investigating. a man's body was found 30 feet from the roadway. san mateo police arrested a man after he called in to say he shot his neighbor. he's been identified as 57-year-old allen runchy. it happened at a storage lot off highway 52. a man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest.

the men knew each other and got into a fight before the shot happened. foot patrols in chinatown. they are getting volunteers on the streets of chinatown to accompany shoppers and residents. it's in response to high profile crimes targeting asian americans in the neighborhood. organizers say the volunteers will be unarmed and they'll partner with police to report incidents. as the bay area confronts issues of race and social justice, we're here to help. head to our website for a list of local resources. okay. so you've heard the stories. bay area residents are leaving the state for a number of reasons. one north bay family is joining that exodus today. they don't have a destination in mind as abc 7 news anchor and reporter tells us, they're hoping to find their dream home by taking a long trip across america. we're going to go with round one of moving some boxes.
