and you have got to make sure economy is strong. >> majority leader chuck schumer says he expects them to finish the bill this week. if the senate approves the bill this weekend it will then go to the house for approval and then to president biden. so that means people that are waiting on the $1400 stimulus checks included in the build could start to see that money as soon as march 13th. the deadline for the unemployment benefits to expire is march 14th. >> getting it in at the last second. jobina, thank you. happening today. governor newsom plans to sign the 6.6 billion dlar plan om oe incentives for schools to offer that inperson instruction by the end of the month. the districts have until may 15th to decide but they get less money the longer they wait. indoor high school sports

allowed in california today. result of the settlement after san diego county sued the state. basketball, volleyball and wrestling can all resume, as long as the county has fewer than 14 cases per 100,000 residents. there will be weekly testing. it is provided for free. and masks will be required for everyone, including coaches and support staff. >> all i want is to put on the jersey for my school and represent my school and be a part of that team. >> it is not a threat to society. and at the end of the day the kids are not the enemy anymore. >> teams can only return to competition if they follow sfrikt requirements that are already in place for college teams. that includes testing around each competition and following contact tracing protocols. >> governor newsom announce ad plan to set aside 40% of california eats vaccine supply for vulnerable underserved communities. and that includes 10 bay area neighborhoods. according to the chronicle, four are in solano county, mont zuma,

vaccination site at golden gate fields is back open. after a protest forced the cancellation of hundreds of appointments. four people got on the track to protest horse racing. the group direct action everywhere dive us this video and protesters chambered themselves together and used smoke flares to draw attention. they are demanding the track be shut over recent horse deaths. they say it was not there intent to disrupt vaccinations. >> we're in full support of the vaccination site. and we're here on the complete opposite side of the property. we pose no hard hazard at all to the vaccination site so that was a 100% on the albany police department who made that decision. >> yesterday's races were also canceled.

coast. 61-66 from san francisco to fremont. those your bay temperatures. and then we have the mid-60s. low- to mid-60s in the north bay and mid- to upper-60s in the east bay and also into the south bay. tonight how about 40s across the board. possibly some this 03s in the north bay where the clouds open a little quicker than the rest of us as the rain quickly rolls through. tomorrow morning, you can see it is already quiet out there. increasing sunshine. blustery day. temperatures in the 50s for the most part. so this is going to be a little chilly if you are outside. sunday increasing high clouds but mainly across the north bay and monday into tuesday and wednesday, the medium range models. you know these models. we don't put a ton of stock in them because they are not finite enough. but they give us a trend and the trend is starting to pull that wet weather a little more off the coast. i hope that trends back towards on top of us. because look at the rainfall amounts. they are significantly less than what we talked about yesterday. so we'll keep an eye on that over the weekend.

for all 4,000 school district employees. administrators say this will help them safely reach their goal of getting kids back in the classroom on april 21st. governor newsom has also announced california teachers will be prioritized, starting next week. the state will set aside 10% of its vaccine for teachers. this clinic here that we are at in the alviso community. they are going start handing out wristbands for the vaccine at 9:00 this morning. no appointment is necessary. then they are going start giving shots at 10:00. they have not said how many doses they have. reporting live in san jose, amy hollyfield abc7 news. schools in contra costa could be back open before the end of the month. mount diablo unified school district superintendent says a hybrid model of inperson and online laerj could start as early as march 22nd. the trustees of the district will discuss and vote wednesday.

contra costa county is expected to move into the red tier the next few weeks. the state and county have already approved the district's plan. many counties are seeing fewer vaccine doses because of the lingering supply shortage tied to the blue shield transition. center health was -- 30,000 doses are set to arrive by the middle of yooex week although that is only enough to vaccinate two third of the current back longoria. santa clara says their county is facing the same issue. >> we received much less than expecting and one of the challenges is that we're notified about this information the week before we're planning for the following week. >> many are concerned about the lack of transparency surrounding blue shield's algorithm. >> underserved populations will have access to more vaccines in the city of east palo alto.

the city have teamed up to provide vaccines to seniors, essential workers and low income families. these palo alto city council had a special session last night to discuss the vaccine efforts. is it city represents 5% of san mateo's county population but more than 10% of covid-19 cases. >> as long as there is vaccine supply, which is being challenged right now because of the transition of vaccine distribution to blue shield health b plan, it has affected all of our supply including the county. >> the new vaccine site for eligible east palo alto resident begins next week. tomorrow marks one year since the first major news conference about covid-19 in san francisco. on march 6, 2020 the city's director of public health announced there were two cases here. jobina was able to catch up with dr. grant koufax who joins us

richmond under a clear sky. other neighborhoods down in the south bay. 46, san jose. so low- to mid-40s there. 39 in mountain view. 48 in san francisco. upper 30s across the north bay valleys and 38-41 in east bay valleys. san jose about 47 degrees, around 87 near the shark tank. storm is slowing. so for our commute it is going to be dry i've got good across the board. because it is not until 7:00 the light to moderate steady rain moves into the north bay. so all of us have a dry commute unless you are out after 7:00. future radar. it is slowing down just a little bit. yesterday it looked like it was coming in around 5:00 and now it looks like 7:00. and it is going move into the hard of the bay by 10:00 and then be over everybody by midnight. so that is about an hour behind what we talked about yew daand moderate rain at midnight. and then quickly tapers and pushes to the east by 3:00 in the morning.
