to around 3,000 feet. and i think we'll get a couple inch on hamilton maybe a little less on diablo. mainly right now across the north bay and during the overnight. but looks like all of us get a chance as this marches a little north of east. and you can see yellows in those. so that means some of those brief downpours are possible the next hour or so. not much going on right now as we look down the embarcadero from our roof camera there. every hour, 7:00, noon, 4:and 7:00 is sful of chances of showers and thunderstorms. happening today. two more bay area counties could be moving into the red tier. alameda and solano are currently in the purple tier but a move would allow for more reopenings including indoor dining. live in berk, amy hollyfield with the details. good morning.eley, amy hollyfied with the details. good morning.

visit and hug family members who are low risk even if they are not vaccinated. the cdc is still urging people to avoid non essential travel. some medical experts are on password. others say they don't get it. >> so this is one of these examples where i think the cdc is being far overly cautious in a way that defies common sense. it just doesn't make sense that you can't travel, especially if you now can get together with loved ones. >> as spring break season hits, the tsa says sunday saw the highest number of travelers since the postnew year's rush. health leaders are all unified on one thing. saying masks and social distancing when in public are still as important as ever. reggie. the governor is going to deliver his annual state of the state address today. it will be virtual. the governor will be at dodgers stadium in l.a. which is currently a vaccination site. his address comes as we get encouraging news about the state's vaccine supply.

learning. parent wills choose either five days on campus or distance learning from the rest ol school year. tk through 2nd grade will go back in about three weeks. march 29th. students in 3-5th grade return in about a month, april 12th. parents will need to make their choice by thursday at noon. today the san francisco school board will be meeting meeting to discuss the return of inpersoning learning. according to the district, 66 several education sites and elementary schools are expected to reopen april 12th. special education students and elementary law schools are moderate or severe disabilities will also be starting that same day. schools with just a few requests will have full pirn person days. >> if you have a student in pre k. moderate severe, special day

>> proceedings have just gotten back under way. lawyers are sparring over reviving a third-degree murder charge against derek chauvin, to be former minneapolis police officer who was seen on video around the world kneeling on george floyd's neck. chauvin did make an appearance yesterday, seen taking notes in court with a navy suit and black faimds face mask. he's pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and manslaughter charges. abc news chief medical analyst dan abrams is on gma this morning explaining his defense. >> you hear them say the cause of death may very well have been drug use and underlying medical conditions rather than the incident itself. i think you are also going hear them argue on this question of intentional assault that he was, even if you think he went too far still acting within the scope of his police work. >> minneapolis remains under tight security with fortified

he's not going back to prison. instead he'll be serving a year and a half home detention and three years probation. a win in court for the widow of kobe bryant. she's going to be allowed to learn the names of the four l.a. county sheriffs deputies who allegedly shared graphic photos of her husband's deadly helicopter crash. this new judges ruling means vanessa bryant can add their identities to her ongoing lawsuit against the county. the tragic crash killed the nba legend their daughter and seven others. the l.a. county sheriffs says all photos shared by those deputies have been deleted. a resolution that could make the berkeley home where vice president kamala harris grew up in a historic land mark. the resolution would allow the residents to be given landmark status. if this passes it would need approval from the city council and the landmarks commission.

the two first dogs are back in their home in delaware this morning after an aggressive biting incident with white house security. it involved the younger german shepherd it. happened last week. 3-year-old major is the first shelter dog to be at the white house. he's reportedly displayed agitated behavior, jumping and even charging at staff members. now, the older biden dog, championship, 13 years old, much calmer because of his age. a new animal shelter just opened in san francisco's mission deryk. the facility on bryant and alameda is state of the art. a modernized vet sweep, better ventilation and more sanitary cleaning systems and also expanded play area for adoptions. animal care and control takes thousands of an mason a year from dogs and cats to pelicans and raccoons. the shelter is doing virtual adoptions for now but it is still accepting lost animals by

warming trend. 52 today at half moon bay to barely 58 in fairfield. molest of us around 53-56 degrees this afternoon, dodging drops and possibly ice. better chance of showers tonight and temperatures mid to low-40s. the evening commute just about all of us been touched by wet weather. but overnight even more rainfall. we wake up tomorrow to the most slippery conditions so far. and look at this. tomorrow we have a chance of more thunderstorms. so let's take a look at future radar. and you can see them rolling through. and notice the pink and the white in lake county and on hospital. that is snow going to kmumt there. as we head into wednesday afternoon into the evening hours you can see a definite tapering of the shower coverage and intensity. so i think the heaviest rainfalls tonight and tomorrow up to another quarter inch of rain, maybe even a third of a inch. the accuweather 7 day forecast, 30s thursday and friday.

>> i do think it is important for people to recognize the cdc said, if you are vaccinated and you are coming in contact with someone who's at very high risk if they got covid it is probably smart still cob quite careful. >> reporter: in san jose, kris reyes for abc7 news. thousands of people will receive the vaccine at the coliseum site will not have do a redo despite potentially getting less than the recommended dose. state health officials say it happened february 28th and march 1st. officials say the doses were still within the required range. 6,300 out of a total of 1303,000 people were vaccinated possibly received the lower dose shot. anyone potentially affected will be getting a letter from the state. as the bay area ramps upped is vaccine rollout. one local county is just going skip the state's blue shield program. santa clara county has serious

concerns about the program it's centered around the vaccine supply. our media partners at the mercury news also report only one of the state's 58 counties has signed up so far. oakland based blue shield was set to take over the state's vaccination program by the middle of the month. and a deadline is quickly approaches for parents of l elementary student in berkeley. live outside berkeley arts school with patients options. >> reporter: this is for elementary school kids here in berkeley. it is about getting them back into the hallways and classrooms and parents do have an important deadline coming up. so pay close texattention to th options. parent kanscan choose an on cam five-day a week option or they can continue distance learning for rest of the year.
