>> for super bowl labc 7 news. >> this map tracker is on abc7news.com. danville police releasing information about a man shot this afternoon at sick a more valley road and camino ramon. we're in danville with new video from a witness. >> police say they first got calls of a man throwing rocks off the freeway over pass about a block behind me on to 680 and then ended in the middle of this busy intersection when police say that man pulled out a knife. the calls came in around noon of a man throwing rocks off the over pass. >> the officers approached the subject who was in the middle of the road. as the officer tried to talk to him, the man pulled out a folding knife and opened it. >> the police chief said the officer on scene told the man to

drop the knife several times and they released this picture of the man with the knife in one hand and bag of groceries in the another that appears to be from the police body or dash. what happened next was only described by chief shields. >> he then advanced towards the officer who discharged his weapon striking the man once. >> all of this happened in the middle of the intersection at sycamore and pico ramon as people witnessed from the cars and other officers came over to help. the man taken to the hospital for treatment and condition not disclosed. police have not yet released his name or that of the officer who shot him. the shooting is under investigation by contra costa sheriff department and district attorney. in danville, matt boone, abc 7 news. we have new developments on attack on uber driver in san francisco.
