>> reporter: claudia is the co- owner of the brewing company in alameda. throughout the day, the airline kept getting longer with customers finally coming back. >> the last time i came was with her so it has been a while. that was september. re/max in previous months guidelines required for breweries to offer food in order to reopen. as tiers shifted, what helped them stay open was this food truck. >> we worked together we were doing this as a team and for the last seven months we could not open unless we had a food truck, so you know, we relied on them to be here. as michael boyd feels the same way. >> if they can do it without us, i don't know if we could do it do it without them. >> reporter: starting today, the food requirement has been lifted. alameda county is in the red tier, which means breweries can now open outdoors only.outdoors. and are required to implementing 90 minute time limits per table and the business has to close by 8:00

health conditions to get a shot. that applies if you are 16 to 64 years oldyears oldyears oldyd conditions that you see on your screen. the state recommends that eligible people reach out to their healthcare provider, people with these high risk conditions won't be required to provide documentation to verify their diagnosis. officials say appointments could be tough to come by until vaccine supply ramps up. on the one-year anniversary of schools being shut down, the san francisco teachers union has approved the district's plan to return some students to in person learning. organizers with decreasing the distance held a rally in san francisco saying it is not enough they marched from alamo square to civic center plaza where families demanded all schools reopen full-time immediately. the district's plan includes returning students can run through fifth grade to in person learning by april 12th. parents say kids of all ages middle and high school need to come out of isolation. >> we should not be afraid to go back to public health reasons. the cdc, san francisco public

of health and california department of health are all in agreement, it is safe for our children to be back in classroom. >> the mayor also spoke with a rally she talked about the opportunits ng to students this summer to help them get back on track. >> we have a large donation and we have other folks from the private sector who are willing to provide help and support so that we can serve what it looks like anywhere between 25,000 and 30,000 kids and we are lookin that. >> mayor says she anticipates all teachers and staff will be vaccinated to get all schools open. the sfmta do more lines next month to help students get to school but details about which lines have not yet been announced. according to the examiner the west portal will be restored and made transit service. they plan to reintroduce the

we are feeling the reth and >> fining for race and social justice as part of a building better area part of a commitment we have made you. announcing violence against asian americans. avenel rallied this large crowd outside san jose city hall to stop hate and violence against asian americans. >> it is unfortunate that we have to gather here today but one that is recognized so that we must come together and unite to stamp out the hate and violence in our community. more crimes against asian americans are coming to light in the bay area. the prosecutors have up to the charges against the man they say shattered method slur during an alleged sexual fold of an asian woman at the san jose station wednesday.

>> there's been over 3000 reported hate crimes since this pandemic started against aip folks. this must stop. he stood in the crowd with two american flags, she's feeling hopeful to see so much support for her community. >> you can either let the hate get to you, or you can look at the hope in our community and i choose to look at the hope in our community. the recent wave of cries and spreading the asian community on edge is definitely being felt in oakland. earlier this past week, a 75- year-old man died after he was attacked and robbed while on his mornwa there was another rally held in chinatown yesterday, community members spoke out against the proposed crime bill sb 82 authored by state senator nancy skinner. they said it would lessen the punishment for these types of crime. >> which will encourage more crime against the entire

lights. it is pretty clear and quiet right now, san francisco currently if you degrees, oakland 53, mountain view and san jose at 48, morgan hill and half moon bay of 46 degrees. and this time from the east bay, we are looking out toward bay bridge and san francisco in the distance. it is santa rosa concord at 50, livermore at 46 degrees. so let's talk about the storm today on our storm in scale it is one out of five. a light storm. it arrives this afternoon and continues through tomorrow. we will see some rain moderate at times. and the system of the front passes through we will see some strong, gusty winds. now, tomorrow is the cold front passes through, there will be enough instability for a chance of thunderstorms and even some halen because this system is so cold we might even see some possible snow on our mountaintop, so, here's a look at the forecast animation. by lunchtime, still under cloud cover, no rain yet, but then

around 4:00 in the afternoon, we will see some rain, santa rosa, north of that, and then by 8:00 this evening, the front slides south and you will see some moderate rainfall, the area in the yellow and the east bay and so light, moderate rain around the rest of the area. the pink and white, that is the snow on some of our mountaintops, which we could also see east of san jose and you notice there's also snow up in tahoe as well this afternoon. now, by monday afternoon, we will still see some possible pop-up showers, but mostly dry, but because of the instability, that is where we could see the hail and thunderstorms. rainfall estimates right around a quarter of an inch for most everyone, a little bit more, maybe at half moon bay and less possibly in brentwood. so, most of the rainfall will fall during the evening hours tonight. highs today in the 50s for the most part to near 60, san francisco, 55, santa rosa, 55. 60 in conjured and san jo.

where we have low clouds over and much of the bay area, sunrise at 7:21 this morning. turn your clocks forward. it is going to be gusty at times during the afternoon. the rain will hit the northbay first and with it will be some strong winds, temperatures only in the 60s and 50s and sunset at 7:16 and that is when the rain starts to move through the rest of the bay area. air travel is surging across the country as more and more americans are ge vaccinated. spring breakers are heading to texas and florida despite warnings from health officials. and many fear the country maybe opening back up too soon. and possibly wiping all the progress made in the battle to contain the virus. karina mitchell has the details. >> reporter: vaccination efforts continue to wrap up nationwide increasing nearly 40% in the past month. the country now averaging 2.3 million shots a day, health officials saying almost 106 million doses have been administered here in the u.s. by yesterday night. >> we need all americans to get
