welcome to tuesday, march 16th. first, we'll get to mike nicco. we have a hard freeze in lake and mendocino counties where temperatures can fall into the 20s. we have a freeze warning. in the north bay valley temperatures will dip down to right around 30 to 32 degrees. here's a look. san jose 101. partly cloudy and 39 degrees. temperatures stay in the 30s. low to mid-50s under a mostly sunny sky and upper 4:00. 53 by 7:00. kumasi? thank you. today marks one year since the shelter-in-place orders. there have been 29.4 million covid-19 cases in the u.s. and

this also includes people who have recovered. about 24,000 cases were reported in california, continuing our lowering case trend. the state expanded vaccine eligibility to include 4 million people with underlying health conditions but millions of californians are waiting for their turn and it could be another month before those 50 and up can can can appointment. amy hollyfield has more. >> reporter: many californians are wondering when will this be my turn to get the shot. that is becoming a wait and see situation, a time for everybody to be patient, be in stand by mode for now. that's creating a lot of questions on who can get vaccinated. an estimated 4.4 million became

from the vaccine completely. 42% said they probably or definitely will not get the shot. that's compared to 17% of democrats. right now demand for the vaccine far outpaces the available supply in most parts of the country but there are also signs of slower registration in some areas. health experts are worried resistance to the vaccine could undermine efforts to achieve herd immunity and end the pandemic. some said they were hesitant including concerns over possible side effects but also their belief that the pandemic has been overblown. kumasi? >> thank you. this morning california has confirmed the first case of the variant found in brazil. a man in brazil tested positive for the variant. earlier reports from brazil
