a uc san francisco study is linking the rise in online hate speech against asian-americans directly to former president donald trump. >> we're rounding the journey on this china virus. >> the study found just a week after the former president tweeted the words "china virus" for the first time, the number of 18-asian tweets spiked. those who tweeted that were far more likely to pair it with a racist hashtag. >> attaching races or ethnicities to a disease can really stimulate this type of racist attitude toward this particular group. >> normalizing this type of behavior can potentially give rise to hate crimes. part of building a better bay area is fighting for racial and social justice.

more than a hundred passengers were aboard that amtrak when it collided with a dump truck stuck on the tracks in oakland this morning. the truck driver and the passenger jumped out just before the impact. the driver said he tried to stop the train by waving his arms but it kept coming. >> all of a sudden i saw that it got stuck. and that's when i saw the light. i said oh, my god, man. >> the engineer saw the driver, tried to stop but it wasn't possible. no one was injured. the pandemic has brought about many changes in the way we live and how children go to school. there's a real tune to see transformation that will benefit all children.
