>> but many teachers unions across the country are already pushing back. some saying they want more information and others claiming the guidelines are being revised because of a lack of physical space in the schools. >> the new recommendations coming on the same day the u.s. reached a key milestone. administering more than 100 million vaccine doses since president biden was inaugurated on january 20th. let's go back to abc's zohreen shah in los angeles with more on this. good morning to you, zohreen. >> reporter: good morning, guys. many schools have strict covid guidelines in place including this one. you can see the long list right here, well, one of the biggest rules is about to change and that could get kids back into hallways and classrooms very soon. the cdc is updating its guideline from six feet when it comes to social distancing down to three feet. this applies to elementary school students when they wear a mask. it also applies to high school and middle school students in most scenarios. now, parents are conflicted. teachers unions are sounding the alarm.

the cdc is citing three studies that show shorter distances don't chip away at safety, that getting kids back in school is critical in turning the corner of the pandemic. the push to re-open comes as the white house warns of that highly contagious uk variant. they say it makes up 30% of cases. it also comes as the white house has reached its goal of 100 million shots into arms in less than 100 days. that is well ahead of schedule. you have a lot of states that are rolling back restrictions including connecticut. now, they are opening up their restaurants there at 100% capacity. here in l.a. county, a lot of businesses opening up as well and we just learned overnight that over 3 million shots have gone into arms here in this county. dan. >> we're at such an interesting point in this pandemic and the stakes are incredibly high. zohreen shah, we really appreciate your coverage. moving on, president biden and vice president harris condemned attacks on asian-americans during a trip to

atlanta where a gunman killed eight people this week, six of whom were of asian descent, and abc's elwyn lopez is right there in atlanta with more on this story this morning. elwyn, good morning to you. >> reporter: good morning. a community now left to pick up the pieces after that violent attack that put the nationwide spotlight on anti-asian sentiments, this as the president and the vice president stopped short of calling the killings a hate crime. this morning, a show of support to a community stricken over tuesday's deadly rampage. >> hate can have no safe harbor in america. >> a harm against any one of us is a harm against all of us. >> reporter: president biden and vice president harris in atlanta condemning racism. just days after eight people were killed in shootings at three separate spa locations in the metro area. six of the victims asian women including korean immigrant hyun

jung grant, a 51-year-old single mother to two sons. >> she was quite literally the only thing that kept us running, calling every night to check up on us before we goes to bed working for however long as she needed to. >> reporter: state representative bee nguyen, the first vietnamese american to serve in the georgia house says she was inundated with texts the day of the shooting. >> i do want and hope to see this treated as a hate crime. >> reporter: while the killings have not been classified as a hate crime, authorities say nothing is off the table. >> much more work has to be done. i think that people thought that it was all wrapped up once we made the arrest but now this is where the real work begins. >> reporter: the suspect, 21-year-old robert aaron long appears to be in this 2018 social media video on the facebook page of a southern baptist church now taken down. the church confirming long's membership but not commenting on

telling abc news it is exploring bringing a parent-controlled experience to instagram. >> they want to make this a safer space for kids. they want to give parents more control and they already know that kids are using these tools and so why not make it safer? point two, though, is that it is good for business. the more users they have on these platforms the better. >> reporter: the platform does not currently allow kids younger than 13 to create accounts. earlier this week, instagram introduced new safety features for teenage users including tools to help verify users' age, restricting direct messages between teens and adult accounts they don't follow and encouraging users under 18 to make their accounts private. now the idea of instagram for kids has many asking how young is too young for social media. >> ideally kids wouldn't be using it until they are much older but that is not the reality that we live in right now, to communicate with their friends or extended family or

action, the hunt for easter eggs given to him by captain america, but for episode one all the fans are now buzzing why sam doesn't want the shield. my theory is that sam has to be manipulated by corrupt government forces. >> we know that the series looks action packed and seen from the video there. so for those who are not quite as tuned in to the mcu, marvel cinematic universe, how can we get caught up to speed. >> okay, i'm going to give you a bit of homework to catch up. just three movies, 2011's "captain america to 2016's "captain america: civil war," to 2019's "avengers: endgame." it reintroduced bucky barnes as a deadly assassin who's just trying to discover his humanity, "civil war" was a huge avengers crossover event that had a returning villain in the miniseries and really coupled sam and bucky together as this

customers, they're excited. this is one of our best-sellers right now. this is our buffalo chicken stuffed loaf. okay, it's a basically a piece of pizza dough right here. what we've done is taken the chicken tender which is the filet mignon of chicken and what you can do with the chicken tenders you add some hot sauce to it. you can eyeball how much hot sauce you want to put in there, whatever your taste, i would probably put in double myself and what you can do is marinate this now overnight and get it nice and then bake it off the next day, 350 for 20 minutes, and then what you do, you get the cooked chicken right here coming out which is all marinated. ready to go and with that, what you want to do is you want to add more hot sauce, okay. that gives it that -- i love that hot sauce and you know what real nice creaminess and flavor

is blue cheese. we would put it right in there also. and then the nice thing is you want to put some shredded cheese. this is a pack right here. you see these in stores, this is wisconsin cheddar for everybody. we just sprinkle a lot of that in there like that. and then also you can't forget ricotta cheese. you know, we started as a dairy and cheese is really important to us. so you can put all of that together. after you mix it up, this is what you have right here. your whole mixture and you simply just take this now and put this right into basically a piece of pizza dough, okay. now, if -- what you can do is to taste, you can do this to taste right now if you want. what i like to do so make it a little extra cheesy, is put a little extra cheese on it. you want to put more blue

cheese, go for it. and then all you simply do is take this and wrap it. okay? it's a very simple thing. wrap it right up. >> so then what do you do with that dough? >> then fold the -- excuse me, what's that? >> what do you do with that dough once you get it wrapped up? >> okay, i'll show you this now. got it all wrapped up. there you go, okay. this is what it looks like right here. and put some flour down so it doesn't stick. this is your stuffed loaf. this goes in the oven at 350, 375 for 30, 40 minutes and voila. >> looks good. we're cutting it up right now. >> this is what you end up with afterwards. >> stew, quickly, we're -- >> in the middle of this. >> we're running out of time. tell us about the next snack. >> okay, next thing, here's your stuffed loaf. this is your dip right here. really quick. you basically cook that off the same way, we're adding some spices, it's all on our website. if you want to check it out.
