clear up some confusion about how well, the shots work. last week more than a dozen comany suspended their use of the astrazeneca vaccine following reports of blood clots in some people who got the shot. the u.s. study found no increased risk of blood clots and it is effective across all ages including older people. in other countries they did not establish that. astrazeneca's vaccine has been ought raised in more than 50 other cup tris but it hasn't been given the green light in the u.s. dr.aston is talking about the results of this trial. >> when you hear 100% about preventing hospitalizations, that is going to help the population where this vaccine is given and to get fda authorization, fda approval that is gold standard. >> they will now apply for fda

redwood city police are searching for the person who in teng natalie set a man's car on fire. abc news spoke to the family over the weekend. they didn't want to be identified but they said this photo. the man who is ashern and has addition bit relies on that car to get there. he is now using a rental. this is a photo of a suspect. an accelerant was used to light that fire on saturday. the in zero guys is ongoing. they do not believe this crime was hate motivated. a san francisco homeowner is talking about a frightening

experience when thieves ransacked his home. his 11-year-old cousin was inside distance learning when it happened. deion broxton spoke to the home then ner. >> reporter: what is written on the wall of this home is niv to bake your heart. julyed in pencil, help, robbers. this is the bathroom two men forced an 11-year-old girl into friday as they ransacked her tuskegee cousin's home. she thought she was going to be kidnapped or killed. she also put her name on the wall, but we blurred that out for privacy. the homeowner doesn't want to be identified but we showed these pictures. the man we'll call mr. k's horrifying day began when he went to assem terry and then discovered his car had been broken into. when lee returned home, he found his home in shambles. mr.k believes they took the

where we have low to upper 40s from 42 in redwood city. low to mid-40s in the east by valley until you get do brentwood at 48 degrees. sea the radar returns up to the north? those are going to fade away, but the cloud cover riding along the cold from the are not. we'll still need but not as bright bright as yesterday. low 60s along the coast as we head into space daly city. head up the north bay coast, 62 to 63. in the valleys we could get near 70. even a 73 in napa. along the east bayshore pretty narrow range from 66 to about 68 degrees. as we move into the east by

valleys, we're looking at upper 60s for san ra mome and the rest of us around 70 if not even a 73 as you head into fairfield. now, looking around the rest of the state and most of the showers will be near eureka and crescent city and the showers fall apart as we head throughout the afternoon hours. there is a chance of some snow in the sierra but it will be tonight. it will be a quick hit when most of us are sleeping. otherwise mid- to upper 60s and san diego. the warm spot palm springs about 80. here is mount tam. we'll use this as a backdrop. about 37 to 47 degrees. not much of a change from now all the way up to 7:00. 53 to 58 at noon. y'all see we will be back into the 50s along the coast at 4:00 while the rest of us are in the low 60s. 3 this evening, the sun will set at 7:23. still getting used to that. temperatures around 51 at the coast and mid town per 50s

elsewhere. tonight, no worry about frost. we'll get a little breezy in the hills tonight, but even moreso tomorrow night and into wednesday. so for tonight we're looking at low to upper 40s but as you look at the accuweaher seven-day forecast, tuesday into wednesday, above 2500 feet. so for most of to worry. down where we are about 15 to 20. it will be an off-shore breeze and warmer tomorrow and wednesday. we have another dry cold front that will halt the warming and drop us back to average thursday. then friday, saturday and sunday, even the coast is going to be in the mid, possibly upper 60s this weekend while we'll have mid-70s saturday and unfortunately, i was looking at the median range models, there is no significant chance of rain or i don't want to say chance of rain at all, but

start traveling again and these are high in florida which is proven to be a pretty popular spring break population even in this pandemic. here is more on this. >> reporter: the tsa says on friday alone nearly 1 million and a half travelers went through u.s. airports. a state of emergency is in effect in miami beach after crowds poured over the streets over the weekend. there was no social distancing. s.w.a.t. teams used pepper balls to contain the chaos. more than 1,000 people have been arrested since february 3rd when vacationers started arriving in harm numbers. the majority are not from florida. >> we're the only real destination open across the country so tens of thousands of people are knocking here and obviously not wearing masks or exercising any of the things you would expect them to. >> nearly 4,000 new infections were reported in the state on

there are over 2 million black residents in california, yet only 3% of vaccines in california have gone to black residents. >> this according to the state's department of public health. >> not only are we more likely to be infect the but through times more likely to die from the virus. >> reporter: the doctor took matters into his own haown haowa help his community. he came up with this and a vaccination clinic at their local church. >> i think this is critical part of our journey and efforts to increase equity in the vaccinations. i think of west virginia did an incredible job be coming hyper local. >> reporter: in the last week, they have vaccinated close to c 500 people in wo church locations. >> this is saving our lives so this is the message we are trying to send. let the church, let the community do the work.

happening today, bart and caltrain are modifying schedules to increase ridership as restrictions ease. bart will keep the current limited service hours, but starting today it is adjusting the schedule on all six

more bay area counties are getting close to the less restricted orange tier. as you can see on the map, only san mateo is in the orange but san francisco, marin and santa clara could get the go ahead to enter the tier this week. san francisco will enter on wednesday. the mayor said it will be the most that the city has ever reopened at one time since the pandemic started. indoor dining capacity will increase from 25% to 50% and it would allow for non-essential
