the gunman killed eight people, 6 of them women from asian- american spas. there's new information about the efficacy of the astrazeneca. they said the company's u.s. trial may have relied on outdated information. this highly unusual statement from the national institute of allergy and infectious diseases came less than a day after astrazeneca said it's vaccine is 79% at preventing infection and 100% in preventing severe disease and hospitalizations. several countries halted its use over concerns it could cause blood clots. astrazeneca plans to ask the fda for emergency authorization next month. well, if everything goes according to plan

looks pretty empty. 80 conventions have been canceled. team san jose officials said they need more state guidance on what the future will look like so businesses can book conventions. they are worried the businesses will go to other states where the guidances are set. so they will ask what will allowed. amy hollyfield reporting. san francisco mayor london breed is holding a news ne conference with the department of public health dr. grant colfax. and the san francisco unified school district may have no choice on reopening. a judge will decide in a week or so if he will force a preliminary order to have in- person learning. the argument was that the

80 conventions and hundreds of events have been canceled. officials said the lack of state guidelines is back for the future business. they have asked the governor to step up and map out what the next few months will look like. >> these large events are booked one, two, three years in advance. if we don't have the guidelines that other states do, that puts us at a disadvantage competitively for sure. >> reporter: the state will announce today that santa clara county will be moving into the orange tier along with marin and san francisco. that not only impacts restaurants and bars, gyms can step up their capacity from 10% to 25%. museums can step up. bowling alleys and card rooms can reopen. that's expected to go into
