mall. police say the patrols are meant to deter crime and show the department is sensitive to the increase in violent and recent crimes against asians. three weeks ago a filipino woman was assaulted by a man at the dara done station. that suspect was charged with a hate crime. owners of a chinese restaurant in that east bay are trying to raise awareness after their building was blowtorch. surveillance video from wednesday night, you are seeing a tear, shows a man ignite a blowtorch and propped it against a door. the man then leaves. he props it against the door and then leaves. he comes back 20 minutes later and then takes the torch away. a family member i spoke with doesn't want to reveal the name of the restaurant but is asking other business owners to remain vigilant especially during these times of attacks on asians. temporarily house

unaccompanied migrant children. the national guard base will accept 1500 children between four and 18 years old. muster from central america. this facility is one of eight approved to house migrants. thursday will last four to six weeks. an oakland church will celebrate reopening on easter sunday. the gospel church on 66th avenue will have two services today. one at 8:00 a.m. and one at noon. it had been closed for months because of covid restrictions on inter-services. now the alameda county is in the orange tier, people can worship together. to commemorate the easter holiday, the cross on mt. davidson in san francisco lights up the sky. the tradition is nearly a century-year-old but the pandemic forced some changes.
