best chance of a isolated thunderstorm this afternoon, and i will talk about coming up. it is going to get breezy everywhere in the afternoon hours dropping the temperatures into the mid to upper 50s at the coast and san francisco which is below average. low to mid-60s in the bay. barely 70s in the east bay and north bay. you can see the green around lakeport. that is the chance of thunderstorms i am talking about. minneapolis is in a state of emergency as the world await as verdict in the trial over george floyd's murder. the jury taking up in hotel rooms as they prepare to start day two of their sequesters deliberations. jobina is tracking the developments at the live desk. >> cities across the country

are preparing for unrest ahead of a verdict any time now, yesterday the defense emphasizing george floyd was not a threat, arguing his cause of death was from drug use and heart disease. during the trial five different medical experts took the stand to explain floyd die from the a lack of oxygen. this morning abc news chief legal analyst dan abrams is on "gma" breaking down how effective each argument was. >> you have to understand what he had been dealing with up to that point to understand why he did what he did. the problem is that doesn't answer the question of why he was doing what he did at moment 3 in the nine minute tape and moment 6, at moment 8 -- and that is the big east challenge. >> chauvin has pleaded guilty

to murder and manslaughter charges. minnesota's gov deployed 2,000 national troops to be on stand by once a verdict is reached. oakland and san francisco are also preparing for the possibility of protests. >> jobina, thank you. we have been bringing you complete live coverage of the trial and of course, that will include the delivery of the verdict. you can watch that on our abc7 news news and on our abc7 news app. johnson & johnson suffered yet another setback with the covid-19 vaccine. a maryland team stopped production at the request of government regulators. the fda is looking into a mistake at that facility that led to the disposal of millions of doses. this comes less than a week after the vaccine was paused to investigate possible links to a rare blood clotting disorder. there have been a lot of questions and a possible need for a covid-19 booster shot. pfizer and moderna are working to develop one. there is new data on whether

you actually need one. abc news reporter stephanie sierra is digging into this. >> reporter: pfizer and moderna's vaccines have been proven to be effective for at least six months but millions of workers at long term care facilities across the state are just weeks away from exceeding that benchmark, leading to the question do i need a booster shot? there is a strong evidence according to the experts that say the answer to that question is no. >> anyone that received the vaccine shots received them in the summer of july 2020 and we are not seeing break through infections even in the setting of surges and persistent cases in the united states. >> reporter: of the 44,000 people that received the vaccine, there was 100% efficacy protecting against severe disease at six months. >> even people in service

[ naudible question] ♪. water restrictions could be on the way in morin county. today the county's water agency is expected to become the first in the bay area to enact mandatory water restrictions amid worsening drought conditions. amy hollyfield hat more live. >> reporter: good morning. these residents here could be the first in the bay area to be told to restrict their water use. that would include only watering outdoor areas once a week. here is what the situation

looks like. the water level is already down 40 feet at late sonoma. the water should be the top of the concrete pilings under the bridge. locals say they have never seen it this low this early in the season. water officials think this will probably surprise a lot of bay area residents who have obviously been focused on other issues this past year. >> last year was a low rainfall year all year also. but with covid, understandably, people were not paying attention. we were paying attention, water managers all over the state were paying attention, but, you know, it is understandable that people are a bit distracted and we really need for them to pay attention this year. >> reporter: morin county is looking at banning residents from washing their car, timing their swimming pools and only watering outdoors once a week, applying to 200,000 residents in central and south morin

county. the vote is expected today with water officials saying they are looking at taking action because they say it is driest they have seen in 90 years. people could be fined up to $250,000 for violating water restrictions. in mill valley, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >> that is just not good. and it is going to spread throughout the rest of our bay area neighborhoods. the likelihood of having those effect us, also. morin is unique because they rely on most of their reservoirs and they et the most rain in the bay area and when you don't have it, you don't have it. a chance of thunderstorms up in the north bay. it is a very light chance. we are right on the periphery but it goes mainly from lake county to middleton, northern napa county and the northern parts of solano county around vacaville. there is a slight chance of a shower or two or even a

today morin county could become the first bay area county to move to the yellow tier. that would mean that bars can open up indoors at ta% capacity. restaurants and gyms can open

all eyes are on minnesota this morning as jurors in the trial of derek chauvin are preparing for their second day of deliberations. the national guard has been deployed to minneapolis in anticipation of the verdict. we haveore now from t we will s todar: good morning. this is the moment. the jury has all the information they will ever need and now we wait. as we are waiting, right here in minneapolis and cities across the country are preparing for possible unrest. the prosecution made their closing arguments clear -- >> this wasn't policing. this was murder. >> reporter: the prosecutor telling jurors george floyd was not a threat. >> just a human, just a man, lying on the pavement, being pressed upon, desperately crying out. >> reporter: defense attorney eric nelson taking nearly three hours for his closing arguments. >> are annual police officer would, in fact, take into consideration the previous 16 minutes and 59 second, the

. the men charged in the 1996 student cal student polly smart, paul flores is charged with killing smart during an attempted rape and his is acharged with helping to hide her body. smart's remains have never been found. a caravan of bay area activists took their mission to san diego. they are raising awareness about the crisis at the southern border. over 1,400 migrant children are being housed at the san diego convention center where a rally with speeches, psalms and prayers took place yesterday. activists say it is important to help young migrants heal from their trauma. >> they have left situations of poverty, corruption and violence. so, we need to welcome them and

we need to make them feel whole. that will take resources and that will take care. >> san francisco supervisors were part of that caravan. in the south bay a number of local businesses have found that small spaces are saving their shops. now more on a group of micro retail shops in san jose could provide the blueprint for the changing workplace and economy in a post pandemic world. >> a small space with impact. that is how yuri kim describes her experience as a small shop owner. she move from the one of four micro retail spaces to a much bigger storefront. >> you can come into a lot of problems and your business may not make it, but at least with a micro space, you can test the waters out. >> reporter: with the help of a
