with kate larson who spoke to a voting member of the cdc committee. >> the cdc and fda say the single shot vaccine must now come with a warning and medical fact sheet about the risk of a rare blood clot disorder identified only in women so far. >> we are seeing what appears to be a higher risk of this complication in women under the age of 50. seems to be different and higher in women in their 30's. >> dr. grace lee voted to lift the ten day pause and use the vaccine in all adults. >> for women under 50 we want them to know the potential risk and that there are other available vaccines. >> it was paused after six women came down with severe blood clots with in two weeks of getting the shot. there are now 15 cases, most with severe clots near

the brain. all of them are women between 18 and 59, three of them have died and seven are still in the hospital. they are out of 8 million who have safely received the vaccine. >> for every one million doses of this vaccine the j and j vaccine could prevent over650 hospitalizations and 12 deaths among women age 18 to 49. >> chief of emergency medicine at zuckerburg general hospital. >> with all this new information how are you incorporating that in the er when it comes to patient care >> we sea patients with things like headaches or chest pain. if they have gotten the vaccine it adds that level of concern but we are already fairly suspicious in those situations any way because there is a relatively higher risk in young women of clots.

is reserving the opportunity for family members aged 16 or older. appointments are open for the city college vaccination site. in the south bay the largest county has reached a milestone in the fight against coronavirus. santa clara has given one million doses. nearly a third of the counties eligible population has been vaccinated. still, county officials are reminding the public not to let their guard down. >> the more people that get vaccinated the safer it'll be. the less chance for viral spread, for mutation and variants. the closer we get, the safer we are. >> to help close equity gaps such as east san jose the county said more walk ups will be made available at certain sites starting next week. officials will also focus on expanding weekend and evening time slots. and for the first time since last march the warriors could see and hear real hometown fans at

maybe less than that to a half inch in the upper elevations of perhaps the hills. it's not a big weather maker, a big storm but we haven't seen anything in about 35 days. we certainly need it as we go into sunday. you can see the scattered showers, the front pushes through by midafternoon and then you see by sunday night we are dry. rainfall amounts, they are scaling back a little bit. i would say couple hundredths on the peninsula, two tenths to a third of an inch, higher elevations the north bay, hopefully maybe a quarter inch. this will be good to dampen the fuels that have gotten dryer and the snow pack. we need snow. we have a winter storm warning for the west slopes of the sierra nevada. above 4500 feet. even the higher peaks could pick up about a foot or two feet so travel certainly not recommended and as we look at the certain locations here you will notice that kirkwood always

. good morning. thank you for joining us. we will start this half hour with another look at the weather. e. good morning. we are starting out with a lot of cloud cover. with all the cloud cover temperatures are uniform. we will see them break up by the afternoon but overall it's a cloudy day. it's a much cooler day. in fact yesterday we saw a few 70's. today, numbers will stay in the 50's and 60's by 2:00 that on shore flow allowing for the clouds, its breezy winds and by the afternoon, we are staying in the 50's and 60's.

it's a level 1 system and we will track it for you. talk about rain in a few minutes. new details on what happened when police shot a suspect in a hotel parking lot. the department released a detailed video analysis of the moments leading up t shotting. the video start was the suspect leaving the hotel. police say they were waiting outside to arrest him on warrants. mosley apparently sees the officers and makes a run for it. officers released a k9 who you see chasing mosley. fremont officers are not far behind. the video is from five different police body cameras and surveillance. you can see the k9 attacking mosley as officers yell at him to put down his gun. at one point mosley appears to point the gun at the k9. moments later mosley points the gun at them and they

open fire. mosley was declared dead at the scene. in a video statement police chief said the officers were unable to stop the dog from attacking the suspect even after using using commands and a electronic collar. >> we are retraining the dog to be able to recall it from a distance. it's possible that's use of the k9 may have saved officer lives. >> that was dan ashley. the k9 suffered minor injuries from being hit by the suspect. the other officers were not hurt. johnson and johnson's one shot vaccinations could resume as soon as today in some states as we said. this after federal regulators recommended ending the pause saying the benefits ultimately out weigh the risk of blood clots. ty hernandez has the details. >> after a review of the available data the fda and

morning sports. have a great weekend everybody. i'm larry beale. >> things are starting to feel like normal. it feels good. >> yeah. we are getting rain and snow and that would be normal for even april. we haven't seen any in march. the last rain was march 18th. something is on the way. live doppler 7 right now with cloud cover and we saw a little bit of mist and drizzle. san francisco, from that marine layer ringing out the lower levels of the atmosphere with some moisture there. otherwise we have the front that is about a day away. that will bring some light rainfall. here is a live look. the sierra nevada pretty out there. you can see the snow, certainly melting there. temperatures in the low 40's for the early morning low. 51 oakland. radio mountain view with 51 san jose and 50 morgan hill. carson valley here, very pretty. doesn't look real. looks like a fake picture. it's the real thing.

48 santa rosa, 50nevado and upper 40's napa, fairfield and the winds will kick up. they are pretty breezy from the sierra nevada and visibility improving five miles along the coast and finally the last stop here you can see how breezy it is in the upper elevations. there's some snow there but snow pack has decreased, really rapidly to about 30%. we had all that warm weather couple weeks ago and really the water content of the snow is not good. cloudy with drizzle and sprinkles possible this morning. wet and breezy for oscar sunday and a little bit of cloud cover and isolated shower into monday but we clear rapidly. the level one system on the way. this is going to bring light to moderate rain for your monday. starting out monday morning the front moves through monday afternoon. from a 10th to two 10sts. perhaps a third to a half inch. here is how it'll play out on

sunday. 9:00 scattered showers. through the afternoon here comes the front. drops rain in the east bay, the south bay all the way down to the santa cruz mountains and then by seven it's pretty much out of here. rainfall totals from about a couple hundredths on the peninsula, two tensts and then in the north bay we could see a thunderstorm with the stability with the cold air, a third of an inch napa, and you can see down by -- maybe a quarter inch much. fremont hopefully a 10th of an inch for you. about 4500 feet. 11:00 tonight through 11:00 on monday morning. the snow will becoming down. if you have plans to go to -- it would be a bad time to go tonight into sunday. from five to seven inches. maybe a foot in kirkwood. highs today upper 50's to low 60's. it'll be breezy. the warmer locations still cloud cover. few peaks of sun but the clouds are going to win
