11:35 pm
the evening. stay tuned now for jimmy kimmel. we'll see you tomorrow. good night. >> announcer: from hollywood it's "jimmy kimmel live." tonight. maya rudolph, malcolm gladwell and music from kings of leon. and now, jimmy kimmel! [ cheers and applause ] >> jimmy: well, thank you. hi, i'm jimmy, i'm the host of the show. thank you for watching. thank you for joining me for -- thank you -- hour 4 of our live coverage of the nfl draft. and with the 238th pick, the cincinnati bengals select -- guillermo rodriguez. they had the nfl draft tonight in cleveland and i don't want to sound ungrateful but i thought i'd be picked much higher than i was. it's weird that abc has the nfl draft but no nfl.
11:36 pm
we're like a restaurant that has a menu but no food. [ laughter ] quarterback trevor lawrence from clemson was expected to be picked first by either jacksonville or vidal sassoon. wow! what a beautiful man, look at that hair! he's like a young giselle bundchen. [ laughter ] look out, tom brady. someone's comin' for that handsome throne. you know, today if you haven't been counting- is president biden's 100th day in office. and even his opponents, if they're honest, have to admit, he has accomplished a lot. in those 100 days, 43% of the population is at least partially vaccinated, the economy is up 6%, and our national level of malarkey has dropped to near-historic lows. in trump's first 100 days, he accomplished a lot too. he tweeted that snoop dog's career was failing, nordstrom's was mean to ivanka, and he was a better host of "the apprentice" than arnold schwarzenegger. but it's hard to compare these two.
quote
11:37 pm
it's like apples and an orange. [ laughter ] thank you. joe biden today took a little stroll with the first lady on the way to marine one. the helicopter, and he stops and picks a flower for her. boy, this guy doesn't miss a beat, does he? [ cheers and applause ] that was like straight out of a cialis commercial. [ laughter ] a dandelion. you know, during the depression, joe used to use dandelions to make soup. the only thing trump picked up and gave melania required a shot of penicillin. [ laughter ] biden last night gave his first address before a joint session of congress. it was a hopeful speech. he spoke about turning peril into prosperity. he said "life can knock us down. but in america, we never stay down. in america, we always get up." except for ted cruz who was sound asleep. during a lot of this, look at
11:38 pm
him, dreaming of cancun, no doubt. [ laughter ] lyin' ted just turned into snoozin' cruz. but you know who wasn't sleeping last night? the second gentleman, doug emhoff. he was wide awake and very alone. [ laughter ] no dandelions for doug. well, i think, watch this, because i think he just signalled for kamala to steal second base. after the speech an amazing thing happened, every black republican senator got together to let the american people know the republican party isn't racist. >> by doubling down on the divisions we've worked so hard to heal. you know this stuff is wrong. hear me clearly, america is not a racist country. >> jimmy: and then tim promptly returned to the sensory deprivation egg he calls home. [ laughter ] senator scott accused democrats in his rebuttal of using race as a weapon. when the truth is we're more concerned about people using weapons as a weapon.
11:39 pm
race would be a terrible weapon. what would you do, melanin a person to death? [ laughter ] have you been following the feud between kanye and walmart? walmart has filed what's known as a "notice of opposition" to a logo kanye is trying to trademark. walmart claims kanye's logo is "confusingly similar" to their own design. these are the logos in question. kanye's is on the left, walmart's is on the right. basically, kanye and walmart are fighting over who gets to use a doodle of a butthole. right? [ laughter ] can you copyright that? and would it really be so bad for walmart to get their stuff confused with kanye's? a pair of sneakers he owned just sold for two million dollars. if i was kanye, i would go further. i would start wearing a blue vest and handing out "welcome" stickers too. [ laughter ] you know, ever since i was kid there's been something that i always wanted to do, and that is a cartwheel. my little sister could do it
11:40 pm
with ease and it drove me crazy. that i couldn't do it because it seems like an easy thing everyone should be able to do. so, now that i'm in my fifties, it seemed like the right time to right this wrong. so we got in touch with olympic gold medalist gabby douglas and asked her if she'd be so kind to teach me and guillermo how to do a cartwheel. [ cheers and applause ] >> this is where it happens. this is where my cart wheeling career begins, yours too guillermo, we couldn't possibly have a better coach, gabby douglas, how many golds do you have? >> i have three gold medals. >> jimmy: so you've done cart wheels then, did you start when you were born. >> i started at three years old. >> jimmy: has anyone ever died doing a cart wheel?
11:41 pm
>> no. >> we can get hurt right? >> i don't think so, no. >> jimmy: if anyone can get hurt it's us. >> do you guys want the to stretch. >> let me get ready. >> jimmy: don't tell me you're wearing a cool outfit or else i would have too. [ cheers and applause ] you got something in there? >> what do you mean? >> jimmy: i mean is there some kind of a sock in there? what's going on? >> no -- >> jimmy: can i touch it? >> yeah, you can touch it. >> jimmy: yeah there's some padding or something like that. his version of a padded bra. >> can we do some butterflies. maybe straight in and pull. >> let me -- >> jimmy: i've never seen the bottom of your feet before. >> me too. >> let's go through the details of a cart wheel, the front leg is really the foundation and this leg will
11:42 pm
just follow. >> jimmy: uh-huh. >> so it will be, one, two, three, four. like, that action. if that makes sense. [ laughter ] >> should i go lose some weight and come back. >> no i think all people can do a cart wheel. >> jimmy: all right, give it 110%. >> ready. >> 110. >> jimmy: uh-huh. okay. so let's evaluate that. let's look at that again in slow motion, if we can, that wasn't slow motion. [ laughter ] >> don't want to go down like that. >> jimmy: that's exactly how i'm gonna do it. exactly. let me give it a try. >> all right, jimmy, go jimmy. >> jimmy: go jimmy. >> that was actually worse than
11:43 pm

11:44 pm
no chance i'll be able to do this. >> no you can. >> give it a shot. >> i'll give it a im: ah >> whoa. okay. yeah. there. the back leg needs to just forward through. >> jeez. >> it's just that. >> yeah. >> think about not reaching for the ground, if that makes sense. because you're like, so -- >> jimmy: yeah, should we reach for the stars? >> reach for the air. >> jimmy: guillermo, let's do it together. >> red, 1, 2, 3, let's go.
