milestone. >> and more than 100 million americans are now fully vaccinated. that's 39% of adults and nearly 143 million americans are partially vaccinated. that's 55% of u.s. adults. the biden administration still reaching out to americans who remain unvaccinated launching a text messaging service website and toll-free hotline to help people find vaccination sites and appointments. as the u.s. makes progress in the fight against the coronavirus, india is really struggling with out-of-control spread and now the biden administration will be restricting travel from india. so let's go back to abc's zohreen shah at the airport in los angeles with the very latest. zohreen, good morning, once again. >> reporter: good morning, dan. dozens of international flights arrive here at l.a.x. every day. well, america is cutting off most travelers from india this coming as covid cases and deaths continue soaring in that country. the u.s. announcing a travel restriction from india on tuesday cutting off entry to

most people who travelled there in the last two weeks. now u.s. aid arriving in india as the toll on the health care system grows. >> this is not starting from zero. we were already working but we are ramping up now. >> reporter: india's covid surge nearing 400,000 new cases in a 24-hour period stressing the health care system. overnight one hospital treating covid patients reportedly caught fire killing more than 15. here in the u.s., the biden administration announcing yesterday 100 million americans fully vaccinated. the cdc director saying at this pace the nation could re-open soon. >> i think july 1st would be a hiplace and the five of usay aty all together today is something we were afraid would never happen again. >> reporter: chicago's navy pier welcoming visitors as the city loosens restrictions. ♪ opening further in some places could hinge on more americans vaccinated. the focus turning to a younger

this morning was the original deadline for american troop toss withdraw from the country, but that has been pushed back by the biden administration. abc's senior foreign correspondent ian pannell is there with the new timetable. ian, good morning. >> reporter: yeah, good morning, whit. that's right, may the 1st was the original deadline. president biden pushing that back but taliban militants here don't recognize that and there are fears they could attack u.s. forces as they leave. overnight a tragic incident, 21 killed, dozens more rushed to hospitals after a suicide truck bomb blast 50 miles south of here which included high school students. this as america's withdrawal gts finally under way. remember, america and the taliban signed this deal but the taliban stronger and more confident than at any time since the war began. one decade since the death of osama bin laden, two decades since the 9/11 attacks, the u.s. leaving behind a complicated legacy. now a new inspector general report saying that despite the billions of tax dollars poured into the country and the fighting, insurgent attacks are up by more than 35% in the first

voting to remove its anonymous nomination review committees who pick and choose which artists make the final ballot and dozens of categories. opting instead for a more transparent system. this change comes after the grammys faced backlash for its nominees, most notably the absence of the weeknd as a 2021 nominee which led the singer to boycotting the ceremony altogether. artists like jay-z, kanye west and frank ocean have all been outspoken as hip-hop and r & b artists have largely been left out of the most prestigious awards. the academy wrote, this is a new academy, one that's doubled down on the commitment to meeting the needs of the music community. speaking of that, something we can relate to, a technical difficulty. rapper t-pain sharing this video on tiktok scrolling through literally hundreds of messages from stars like fergie, viola davis and so many more writing that he just found out how to check his direct message request folder on instagram after two years of people trying to reach him. t-pain joking in the caption how do i super apologize? press conference?

of time at home so we want to really elevate our indoor space. we did everything ourselves to keep the budget way down as we were working on a very tight budget. >> the most intimidating step is getting started for many of us at least. so what are the first things that people should consider? >> the first thing we recommend is assessing your space. understanding where the sunlight is and kind of understanding what the layout is going to be so you don't want to actually plant a garden or grass where you don't have any sunlight. the other thing that you want to do is think how you'll use the space. do you want to have the sitting area here? do you want to have a dining area? do you want to have a space where you can conversate? the last thing is budget. we had to diy everything and planted all our plants and made planters and installed a pea gravel patio to keep the cost down. >> can you hear me now, by the way?

ishe aio back?, ea you say that small touches can make a big difference in the overall look. can you tell us more about how the small touches have a big impact? >> absolutely. so the key is to do the same concept for your outdoor space as you do for indoor space. you want it to be homey. create different areas for different things. we have a dining area on our deck we love to use for dining. we love to entertain friends but have a fire pit and seating around it where we can hang out after dinner like jordan is now and small touches go a long way. string lights over the seating area to create a nice warm feeling. create an intimate area with an outdoor rug as well. >> lights can really do a lot. another nice touch, plants. plants can really help a space. how do you make plants part of i tnk you're wondering

about what we're doing over here and a really fun activity as we have a lot of plants in the ground is adding a pop of color on the wall. we do that by adding a hanging plant garden. i know you have them in the studio. anybody can do it. it's a lot of fun for the kids to do. we have some pots, some paint. we have soil and plants and herbs. popsicle sticks we like to name our plants and you will need pot hooks. we got ours inexpensive at amazon. you can get them at your local plant store too. this allows you to hang them on the wall. it's a fun activity to do inside as well too. >> we'll walk you through the steps of how to do this. the first thing that we did. we got our paints together. we use a lot of different paint colors. we had to get that all set up. we taped off our pots in the design that we wanted. really fun to make some different stripes and designs, use a lot of different colors on there and went ahead and painted those. took a few coats to get it painted right. if it doesn't cover on the first round that's okay. we let those dry.nge ng the hoo

"nyt" cooking we have so many other recipes for muffins and breakfast pastry, whatever you want. at the end of the day throw everything in the oven and then it'll be ready to eat and you can just hang out. >> first up starting with the classic here for breakfast. perfect for a saturday morning. crispy oven bacon and eggs. how do you make this whole meal in just one pan? >> the amazing thing about sheet pans is that you can fit so many slices of bacon and they can all lie flat so get really crispy and don't get tangled up the way they might in a skillet and you don't have to flip them. they stay here, fry in the oven. while getting crispy in the oven let your eggs sit out at room temperature. once the bacon cooks and shrink down you have enough room to crack the eggs in the pan and fry in the oven, develop this delicious custardy texture. if you're worried about cracking the eggs right into a pan, you can break them into a bowl first and pour them all out on to the pan. >> a treat for a sweet tooth. whipped cream scones. tell us how we get it started with one pan. >> sure, so it's one pan to bake them but i have to confess two bowls to make the scone. >> wait a minute. >> you have all your dry

in green ingredients. ingredient. >> we'll let you get away with one. >> it's only two bowls. it's only two bowls. one is for your dry ingredients and here we smooshed in cold pieces of butter and that's going to make them nice and flaky and in this bowl i just whipped cream lightly to get to this point and what i want to do is add my favorite scone ingredients which are dried cranberries and chopped up chocolate. but you know what, if you don't like those you can switch in dried cranberry, raisins and if you don't feel like chopping chocolate you can throw in chocolate chips. the great thing here you don't even need another tool, just use your hands so you are going to dump in the whipped cream and whipping cream first will add little air bubbles to the cream and will i ly love to just make t becaut really tender and light. you just want to handle the dough so gently so they don't end up tough and once you have your dough come together, you can just form it into these great little balls and dump them
