kate larson joins us in joi newsroom to explain when young teenagers can get vaccinated in california. hopefully 12 to 15-year- olds can get vaccinated started tomorrow. the scientific advisory group met to just us the data concluded the vaccine is safe and effective for 12 to 15-year- olds. the california department of health officially recommended the vaccine for that group. pediatricians are gearing up to vaccinate patients at the doctor's office. >> this is the vaccine refrigerator. the temperature control is very accurate.>> reporter: the san francisco offices are ready for the covid-19 vaccine. >> when we get it, i promise we will be here on evenings weekends. dr. dana has been in close communication with the california department of public health about receiving and

mask mandates. on june 15, the state is scheduled to reopen its economy fully. the governor says he hopes to lift restrictions on outdoor masks at that time. indoors may be a different story. >> for the indoor activities, we will still have some mask guidelines and mandates. we do hope, sooner rather than ter those will as well. california requires mask in most indoor settings outside the home and on public transit have stricter guidelines. the governor announced a total $20 billion in school funding, the highest level in state history. >> people are not left behind as much astarte behind. that's why the investment is so foundational. it is so important. three hours minimum of structural time is connected

protesting and clashes with police. tonight, in the south bay, a pro-palestinian rally in san jose denounced the israeli attacks. is 25 miles away from that demonstration, crowd gathered in support of israel. matt boone spoke with sides. >> reporter: at least 65 palestinians have been killed in gaza, including 16 children. seven people have been killed on the israeli side by rocket fire from gaza, including a six- year-old. thousands of miles away from israel and palestine, the passion and frustration of the crowd outside san jose city hall was palpable. >> at some point, we have to acknowledge that if you keep oppressing people, they will resist. >> reporter:'s family was forced from palestine in 1948, which he sees as one of the enduring factors in this conflict. >> if you have a group of people that think they are god's gift to the world and they can steal any piece of land they want, there can never be peace in that region.>>

happening now, community members are fighting to save a historically market in the heart of san jose. the san jose flea market has been in operation for more than

60 years. the san jose is considering the redevelopment plan, to make way for homes and offices to cover the site. developers submitted a revised plan to include 170 flea market vendors. it is far fewer than the more than 700 vendors currently doing business. please create an opportunity making it a local preference for them. the planning commission is in session. they have yet to make a decision to present to the city council. developing news, the nation's largest gas pipe line has come back on. hackers force them to shut down. colonial pipeline moves 45% of the east coast fuel supply. it could take days before all the gasoline makes it to the individual stores. one point nearly 2/3 of all stations in north carolinanorthi out of fuel. gas prices are rising in the bay area.

it is not due to the pipeline shut down. according to aaa, gaga are averaging $4.22 in san francisco. that is a jump from last week. in oakland, it is $4.17. experts say the increase in prices is due to a spike in demand. >> we are seeing a rise in demand based on emerging from the pandemic, people getting back out and driving to work, looking at vacations over the summer. also driving up prices locally is the switch to summer blend gasoline. speaking of travel, pandemic might not be the most obvious time to start a new airline. a new discount carrier is taking off in the north bay. cornell bernard spoke with the ceo of the airline saying that now is the perfect time to launch.>> reporter: a flight is arriving at the airport in
