back now with panic on the streets in china. people ran for safety after a nearly 1,000-foot-tall skyscraper started to wobble swaying on its foundation. officials are trying to figure out what made the 22-year-old building shake but no earthquakes were reported. we turn to that kidnapping attempt in florida. a girl fighting at the bus stop. we're learning how police say the suspect tried to avoid getting caught. here's abc's megan tevrizian. >> reporter: this morning, a florida man in custody after police say he tried to kidnap a girl waiting at a bus stop. they say surveillance video captured the man getting out of his car running to the girl trying to grab her. but the 11-year-old fought him

off and ran away. police say the man had a knife. >> had this 11-year-old victim not thought to fight and to fight and to just never give up, then this could have ended terribly. >> reporter: 30-year-old jared paul stanga now under arrest. charged with attempted kidnapping, assault and battery. the girl's mother says the same man approached her daughter two weeks ago. then she walked her daughter to the bus stop every day since that first incident except yesterday. >> she fought and she fought and she fought until finally she was able to break free. from her would-be captor. >> reporter: investigators say they tracked down the suspect by locating his car at a nearby home. they say he tried to cover up the color of his car's bumper. >> well, clearly this had been painted black, but you could tell it smelled like fresh paint. >> reporter: another clue, authorities say they noticed a blue slime on his arm which the girl had been playing with before she was attacked.

welcome back. freshmen may soon be a thing of the past at penn state. the school is considering eliminating gendered and binary terms. instead students would be known as first, second, third or fourth year students. the terms under and upperclassmen may also be eliminated. to the shocking sight on a highway. police say the driver of a tesla was asleep at the wheel speeding nearly 20 miles per hour over the limit. but the driver denies getting some shut-eye. police dash cam video shows this highly unusual pursuit in kenosha county, wisconsin. a sheriff's deputy getting a call to be on the lookout for a tesla driver asleep at the wheel. he pulls up next to the car traveling more than 80 miles per hour. >> i then looked over and noticed his head was turned away from me and looking down. >> with lights and sirens blaring, the deputy follows the car for two miles before

he says the driver finally woke up and pulled over. >> he's awake now. pulling over to the right lane. >> how are we doing? i followed you for about two miles and you were sleeping. you were totally like this in the car. >> why would we drive like that? i was okay. >> no, you were sleeping. >> i was a little bit tired. >> reporter: the man said he was on his way to work. >> were you sleeping in this car? >> i was not sleeping. >> have you been drinking or anything like that? >> no, sir, nothing like that. i was on my way to work. >> reporter: the deputy saying the display showed the tesla was in autopilot mode and police say this isn't the first time this driver has been accused of sleeping at the wheel. >> this vehicle with this registration was attempted to be pulled over two different times in february and in august. both of them reported the driver appeared to be head down sleeping. >> the autopilot system in question. police in washington state say a tesla in autopilot crashed into a parked police car and earlier this month in california a man was killed when his tesla slammed
