santa clara, where county officials are already considering changes. amy? >> reporter: are you ready to return here to the office place, and to ditch these? that'll be the focus of a meeting today, the board will be meeting to discuss relaxing mask roles in the office place. the board will consider dropping the mass requirement, if everyone in the room is fully vaccinated, and does not have covid symptoms. the proposal would also not require social distancing. this would be one more step toward returning to normal. experts say, so much of returning to normal hinges on the vaccine. >> vaccination is the tool we will use to protect our health, to reopen the economy, to get our kids back in school. to get us working again. >> businesses are watching all of this closely with many in the business community telling us, their number one focus is employee safety, as people come

back to the office. santa clara county has said, offices will be required to track employees vaccine status, and some tell us, mandates like this do make it easier for them to have conversations about the vaccine with their employees. so they appreciate these mandates. if not everyone in the room is vaccinated, then masks and social distancing will be required. if this proposal passes today, we will then head to california's office of the ministry of law for review. live in santa clara, amy hollyfield, abc7 news >> thank you, amy. >> bay area health officials are supporting the state's decision to continue wearing masks until june 15th. the association of bay area officials represents 12 local jurisdictions including a bay area counties. in a statement, the group said, this next month is critical to ensuring more people can get vaccinated, and businesses have time to prepare to align with cdc guidance. last week, the cdc announced it is safer vaccinated americans to stop wearing masks in most situations. solano county is not a part of that group that released the

office places are required to keep track of who in the office is vaccinated and who isn't. and this is this is this appreciate mandates like this, telling us, as they return to the office, everyone's safety is our number one priority. mandates like this make it easier to have conversations about being vaccinated with employees. >> what kinds of protocols do we have in terms of temperature checks and check ins, and how you see people, and where you see people. all of that comes into play. this is kind of the home stretch, and we just, we don't want to get it wrong now, and this really helps us get right. >> reporter: the proposal being discussed today would also call for an end to social distancing in the office. if everyone is vaccinated. it does say, if workers are not vaccinated, everyone in the office will need to wear masks and still stay six feet apart. officials say this would not require people to get the shot,

and they would not be required to say whether they have been vaccinated. but if they refuse to say, then they will be treated as if they are not vaccinated, and they will have to follow those rules. if this passes today, it'll still face further review by california's office of administered of law. reporting live in santa clara, amy hollyfield, abc7 news. thank you, amy. new developments, the fda says pfizer's vaccine can be stored at regular refrigerator temperature for up to a month. right now, pfizer is the only vaccine that is authorized for 12 to 17-year-olds. so this would allow for easier storage for pediatrician offices. up until now, thought vaccine vials could only be stored for five days at refrigerator temperature. san francisco's largest hotel isreeng on monday the hotel on o'farrell has been closed now for about 14 months. the 2000 room hotel will just one of its three towers, to start out. a spokeswoman for the hotel told us, they are already getting ready. >> we have a small group right

meteorologist mike nicco. >> yeah, guys. you know, those winds were howling very quickly yesterday, causing a little bit of damage. in fact, here is a look at a tree that fell in daly city. is happened at night. you can see the car damage there. we are not sure if the car drove into it, or if it actually fell on the car. that is what we talked about yesterday, do not be near trees, when we have winds that could cause potential damage. thankfully, everybody is okay out of that accident. that was one of trees and issues we saw fall. i did the stuff on social media, truth, maybe eucalyptus fell, i think it was golden gate park. definitely lived up to its wind advisory yesterday. let's switch gears, the wind brought an exceptionally dry air. relative humidity about 85 to 100% during the morning hours. we are mainly in the 50s and 60s. that's why it's so chilly this morning, compared to average. temperatures up to 9 degrees cooler than yesterday. where does that
