this happen last night on mission street between seventh and eighth. when officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-20s in his car who had been shot. he died a short time later. no arrests have been made. on the east coast, shooting during a house party in new jersey left two people did and a dozen others injured. within 100 people were at the home for the party. the victims were a 30-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman. one of the 12 injured is in critical condition. police have not made any arrests. a windswept fire in sonoma county is under control after destroying at least one building along the western side of highway 101. flames broke out just before 2:00 yesterday afternoon. at one point forcing a temporary closure 101 over concerns of spot fires. flames scorched 10 acres before firefighters got the upper

hand. nobody was hurt. investigators are trying to determine if the fire started in the building or in brush nearby and spread. >> it's another reminder that this year setting up to be one of the earliest and potentially longest fire seasons on record. a year after the most destructive season ever, the state can barely take much more. lori anthony has that part of the story from east bay. >> reporter: is go time for these goats. as they play a key role in a fire season that is heating up month ahead of schedule. with fires like this eight acre event on a day that wasn't particularly warm. all signs are putting two a fire season that is approaching its peak way too early. >> we are experiencing fiwe normally don't see until june or july. >> reporter: the fire district
